Steven looked at the words of the spell and read them, not wanting to wait before trying this thing out. As he read the words from the page, he felt a wave of energy around his body. The paper even began to glow bright red and felt hot on his finger tips. After a few seconds or so of this, the glow died down and Steven felt a pain in his head. He put his hand on his forehead and frowned, looking around. Things didn't look any different. He looked down at himself. He was still dressed in his work clothes and still seemed physical enough. He patted himself over. Sure enough, he was still wearing his clothes. He put his hand on his bed. It didn't pass through it or anything. Steven shrugged. Clearly this paper was actually magical since he saw the glow and felt the heat, but maybe he messed up the words of the spell? Or maybe he wasn't concentrating enough? Steven folded up the paper and put it in his pocket. It was getting late and he had to begin his commute to work. Maybe he'd try the spell again at some point during the day.
As he walked out the door, heading for the bus stop, another Steven still stood in the room. This Steven was completely nude and when he looked down at himself, saw a semi-transparent version of his body that was tinted white. He thought about hovering and was suddenly a few inches off of the ground. He hovered to his wall and put his hand on it, seeing that it extended straight through.
"Wow!" he exclaimed proudly. "I can't believe that the spell worked! Though it seems like I don't know that it did" he said, referring to his body, which he had seen leave the apartment and head to the bus stop as was his usual morning routine. He realized that his body still had the spell in his pocket. If his body said the spell, would it make another spirit Steven that could possess another person? Maybe he should possess someone and tell his body what had happened to be sure that he doesn't throw out the spell or anything dumb like that? Alternatively he could fly over to the store and meet his body there or he could just repossess his body now and write him a note before saying the spell again.
