"I think this is possible," Dad says, jumping and grabbing onto the fabric of the couch. Then, he reaches higher with his other arm, and little by little he starts to climb.
You follow his lead, and almost immediately you feel the strain. The fabric tears into your hands, and the steepness of the couch stresses your shoulders and arms. You begin to fear making it only halfway and then giving out, sending you falling back down. But, you put your fears out of your mind and focus on climbing up, remembering that your dad is with you.
Somehow, you eventually reach out and find no more fabric to grab, and you are suddenly pulled up by your dad. You have both made it to the seat of the couch, and your arms burn. You happen to glance behind you and see the expanse of the living room down below, as if gazing upon the room from the top of a mountain. However, your dad's hand on your shoulder reminds you of the current situation.
