The University of Warrick had been founded by a coalition of Franciscans and Moravians in the 1800s. Although the university has opened up to accept people from all religions, the Franciscan/Moravian culture continues to dominate the campus. The cathedral and the meeting house are the two main buildings on the quad.
Ben Stone has worked really hard to get accepted into Warrick. Although Warrick is not an Ivy League, Warrick isn't a community college either. The prestige of a Warrick graduate is fairly well known.
By chance, Ben has met the Dean of Warrick, a Mr. Paul Ralston. Mr. Ralston happens to go to the same non-denominational church Ben decides to attend. So Ben often sits near Mr. Ralston in church.
Warrick encourages its students to try out for sports teams. Since it doesn't have a football team, ben decides to try out for rugby and he makes it.
But then Ben gets the shock of his life when he meets the captain of the rugby team. Ben thinks Jason Fletcher is gay. But before he can address that shock, Ben gets another shock from Coach Johnson.
"Sales from last years nude calendar were very good. We have contributed more than $10,000 dollars to Sports Allies so far. I'm hoping this year to do even better."
Ben raises his hand, "Do I have to appear in the calendar?"
Coach Johnson answers, "It's not an absolute requirement but I would strongly encourage you to do so as a form of solidarity with the team. If you're the only one not in the calendar, you'll disrupt the teamwork and I may have to cut you from the team."
When Ben gets a chance, he asks Mr. Ralston why he let's a gay man and a nude calendar on the college campus.
