As the gilded light faded, the Deliverance members stared in wonder as they saw what their companion had turned into. While her torso and head remained unchanged, her limbs had been altered drastically. Most immediately visible was the transformation Clair's arms had underwent, which were now covered in dark brown feathers, with many large, long ones extending downward to form wings. She still had hands at the end of her wings, but they now only had three large digits, with sharp nails at their ends.
Below her waist, Clair's hips had widened considerably, and now were covered with countless downy feathers of the same dark brown hue as her wings. From the knees downward, her legs had slimmed considerably and took on a yellow, slightly scaly complexion as they ended in sharp talons where her feet used to be. Turning toward her companions, the blonde looked down at her arms as her eyes went wide with surprise.
"Woah... Am I... some kind of bird woman now?" she asked, taking her transformation surprisingly well.
"Yes, it would appear so," Shade replied matter-of-factly, resting her chin in her hand in thought.
"This is a bit awkward..." Clair said, "Should I still ride a pegasus, or would it make more sense to just fly on my own now?"
Rubbing the back of his head, Alm spoke up, "Well, I'm glad you're taking this in stride. You seem to have noticed your own changes much faster than any of the others did."
"They are pretty obvious though, aren't they?" Clair responded, "That said, becoming some kind of bird woman was pretty close to the top of my list of expectations for mythological creatures we could turn into when I thought of the word 'Skylord', so I was already prepared for something like this."
Experimentally flapping her arms a bit to get a feel for them, the blonde decided to jump high into the air while flapping madly, before she drifted down towards the base of the stairs like a chicken. "Well, that wasn't as graceful as I was hoping," she muttered. "Guess I'll have to do some practice if I want to actually fly," she said aloud.
"Did anyone else want to use the altar?" Shade asked. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
