"Wow..."
Maya felt kind of intimidated, standing before her double's gigantic feet. She could stand taller than them if they were planted solidly on the ground, but still, looking at the biggest toe on the foot before her made it easy to spot that the one single digit was around half the size of her own entire body. If her massive duplicate was walking around, her booming footsteps would be seriously dangerous.
It was time to work. She had a goal, and getting to the glowing Magatama so high above her would require her to start by climbing on top of this overlarge foot as the first step in her ascent.
"Hope you're not as ticklish as I am..." she muttered to herself. Circling around to the back of the double's foot, in the shadow of her billowing robes, Maya placed a palm against one of the smaller toes before her. It wasn't sweaty, fortunately. She had just bathed, and she liked to think that she kept herself fairly clean in general. A bit of grease on her fingers whenever she was enjoying a burger was the exception, of course.
With a small jump, Maya hopped up onto the sole of her double's foot, bracing herself against two toes. This wouldn't be too hard. She just needed to climb up to the ankle from here, and then she could make her way up the side of the double's leg...
"Wh-whoa...!!"
The double had moved. Maya threw her arms down, clutching frantically at the middle toe of the huge foot. It was sliding along the floor, her gigantic double settling her leg slightly forward.
"Uh..."
She looked up in concern. Her towering double was staring right at her, eyes still glowing that same purple colour.
"Um... hi...?"
She let out a frightened sound; two huge fingers were approaching her, and before she could get clear, the two digits grabbed her, pinching at her sides. She expected to be lifted upward, but instead, the double simply moved her a short distance to the side, visibly flexing her large toes a bit.
(Wh-what's she doing...?)
Another alarmed yelp escaped Maya's lips as she was suddenly pressed downward, a fingertip shoving her into the gap between the double's two largest toes.
"H-hey, what gives...!?" she coughed, squirming uncomfortably. The toes at her sides closed in, now taking over the role of squeezing her body from both sides. The toes were flexing and wriggling, forcibly bending her body one way and then another. Why was the double doing this? She felt like she was being treated like a little toy.
"Kn-knock it off, would you...!?" she yelled. The toes suddenly stopped, leaving her slumped awkwardly between them. The huge foot was resting on its heel now, the double's toes pointing right up into the air.
Suddenly, the foot tipped forward. Maya scrambled frantically, only to tumble out from between the huge digits. She screamed, covering her head.
-THUMP-
"Oww..." she moaned, finding herself on her back. When she opened her eyes again, she froze. "Ohh, crap..."
She was staring up at the sole of her double's foot, which was now hovering directly over her. If that foot came down now...
It did. Maya screamed again, but with no time to move, she almost instantly disappeared beneath her duplicate's gigantic foot, big enough to flatten at least half a dozen people her size at once.
With a gasp, Maya lurched forward, finding herself back in her sitting position. She blinked in confusion several times, a hand clutched to her chest.
The room was normal again. She looked down at her body, and around at the chamber. Everything was the appropriate size again, and there was no sign of her violet-eyed colossus of a duplicate.
"Wh-what the-..."
She slumped, palms resting back against the floor behind her. She was certainly glad not to have been stomped on, but she now felt that she understood even less than before about the training she was supposed to be doing.
(So... did I screw up? Was there something else I was supposed to do?)
Letting out a groan, Maya flopped back against the floor, feeling rather tired. This training technique was super-weird. She would need to ask Pearl about the old scroll that had described it. For now, though, all she wanted to do was take a nap here.
