"I may be short, but I'm well proportioned, and that's all that matters!"
Maya was proud of that quote. She often thought back to it whenever she had any reason to think about her slightly lacking height.
Well, now was certainly one of those times.
How had it happened? She stopped in at the usual burger stand on her way back to the office from picking up groceries, and she'd only just finished putting everything away following her lunch, right...?
That was the last thing she remembered, anyway. But now, standing in here on the couch cushion as the TV blared off in the distance, she had to wonder.
By her best measure, she couldn't have been more than a couple of inches tall. Her clothes had shrunk to match her, and they felt normal, at least.
She thought hard, but she just couldn't remember what had happened. Her hand lightly touched her Magatama hanging from her necklace. She sure didn't remember anything in her channeling lessons about shrinking.
"Why couldn't I grow...? Being a giant would be awesome! ... Oh, but wait... How would I get burgers, then...? I'd need giant ones, and if I had giant burgers, I'd rather be my normal size..."
Maya shook these thoughts from her head. There were more important things to consider.
