Liz was understandably in shock when she arrived for work one Tuesday afternoon. After parking her car on the loading bay, she just rested her head on the steering wheel and let out a sigh. She's seen an elderly woman hit by a car that morning. And despite Liz's best efforts to stem the bleeding, she had unfortunately died. Seeing another human being expire was a life-changing event, and not in a good way. But what was now on Liz's mind is what the old woman had whispered into Liz's ear just before she died. Three strange words... acquiro caelestis potestates...
Upon hearing those words, Liz felt a veritable torrent of knowledge flood into her head. All the information she received were about the 'special power' that the old woman had bequethed to Liz before passing away.
I can swap people's bodies in any way?? she mumbled to herself skeptically. It was difficult to believe such a thing.
Glancing at her watch, Liz realized she was a couple of minutes late for work. She grabbed her purse and slung it over her shoulder before exiting her car. She put her alarm on and then went inside Wilkos, where Elizabeth was there to greet her behind the Help Desk. "Sorry I'm late love." she apologized.
"It's not like you to be late Liz." Elizabeth replied.
"Had a dreadful day. Saw an old woman knocked down earlier, and she died." Liz explained in a sorrowful tone.
"Oh god!" Elizabeth gasped. "That must have been awful."
Liz just nodded. Her expression said it all.
"If you want the day off I don't mind filling in for you-" Elizabeth offered, but Liz shook her head immediately.
"I'm fine, thank you. The shock will wear off." she said. But she kept her new powers a secret. It wasn't as though Elizabeth would believe her anyway. So after chatting with Elizabeth, Liz went upstairs and entered the tea room, where several of her other co-workers were sat drinking and chatting amongst themselves. Strangely, as she surveyed the room and the people in it, she heard a whisper in her head, a quiet, indistinct whisper...
