Seeing the huge pile of papers to do, you don't feel motivated. How long would it take to do these? Two hours? That is a long time you would rather spend doing other things. And there is no benefit for you, as you aren't getting better, as the extra work the last weeks have shown. So why should you spend the next two hours with your teacher working on these papers?
"Is there some kind of reward?" You ask unmotivated. "What is?" Miss Brooks asks and looks up from her fashion magazine. "I asked if there is some kind of reward for me for doing this?" You repeat your question. "You learn something and can get better grades." Your teacher answers honestly believing you could improve. With a skaptical face you keep looking at her. She puts the magazine down. "So how else can I bring you to study?" "Maybe if there is some kind of reward." You reply. For a few seconds Miss Brooks keeps looking at you, as if she is waiting for suggestion what you would find motivating. But as you don't say a thing, she asks you. "And what kind of reward do you have in mind?"
