Thankfully, you got to your room in time and managed to lock the door before Mel arrived. Obviously, she was curious about why you screamed since she knocked on your door.
"So, like why was you screaming?" Mel asked.
"I was startled by something" you said somewhat truthfully. You was startled, and half scared to death, by having your clothes transform. It wasn't slow; it was almost instantaneous, almost like magic. But that was impossible. Magic doesn't exist, does it? However, the evidence clung to your chest and waist. Plus 'your' clothes did appear after you started reading the 'magic' book.
"Really? You sounded totally scared, and you got up in a hurry" Mel said.
"I-I'm fine" you said, though you was far from it. As you pulled the tube top off, you realized the book was downstairs. The positive was it was closed, but the downside was that Mel would almost certainly find it.
"Fine. I spilt something. Happy?" you said crossly, as you pulled off the skirt, hoping Mel would buy it. Whether she did or not, Mel said, "Whatever" and left. Giving a slight sigh, relieved with your close escape, you went to your wardrobe for a change of clothes, when you saw something wasn't quite right...
