Physics With Professor Burton

    by: Lok Author IconMail Icon
Laura always loved going to Professor Burton's class. The young adjunct was definitely her academic crush. He had this fun, nerdy way of looking at problems and always got extremely excited with covering certain topics like ballistics and conductivity. She sighed as she watched him unloading his backpack on the front table in their large lecture hall. He probably barely knew who Laura was in their class of nearly eighty students, even though she had come back to take a second physics course in her sophomore year.

The class was mostly guys, which Laura didn't mind. They were all attentive, particularly now that this course wasn't an intro level. There were some other eye candy candidates, but Professor Burton won out by a landslide. She watched his tall, toned body as he queued up a presentation on the projector, his short hair lightly shifting as he moved.

"Hey you!" Laura turned and stopped herself from rolling her eyes. Malcolm, her stalker/suitor, was taking the class too. He likely signed up after hearing Laura was enrolled, but she was hoping that most days she would be able to evade him by sitting in large groups of people. Shame on her for showing up too early with the App.

"Just gonna slide in right here," Malcolm said gratingly as he plopped down to Laura's right. "How's things, did you go to that party thing last night?" he smiled at her, his short blond hair framing his annoying pasty face.

Laura feigned a smile. "No, I was felling a bit sick, so uh, I stayed home to work on some papers." She barely held eye contact as she spoke, returning her focus to the front of the classroom.

"Well I-" Malcolm was interrupted by Professor Burton suddenly speaking up.

"Good morning class!" Professor Burton boomed out with a smile. He leaned against the front of his desk, a remote in hand, as he waited for the murmuring around him to quiet down. "I hope we're all well rested and ready for a great day. I know it's still the start of the semester but we're going to be moving on to a new topic..."

With a click of his remote, Professor Burton revealed the subject of the Powerpoint behind him:
