Sitting quietly at her lab table, Laura could barely contain her excitement as the rest of her class came slowly through the door. She watched Professor Hendricks, a tired old man, at the front of the classroom seemingly pacing back and forth along a few small piles of packets. He was about Laura's height, perhaps an inch taller, and was definitely looking forward to retirement. He had a relatively quiet temperament but was known to have somewhat explosive anger episodes at students and other faculty. His hair was in a disorganized white and gray mop atop his head, complimented by a plain blue button up and slacks.
Looking at the students walking in the room, it took everything for Laura to stop smiling. She saw her friends Brittany and Alice walk in and smile at her, walking to her table.
"Hey Laura!" Brittany beamed, the short redhead sitting across from Laura. "You weren't at the party last night, were you feeling sick or something?"
"Uh, yeah," Laura had completely forgotten about the party with the developments of the App. "I'm feeling a lot better now though, so no worries any more I guess?" She shrugged, placing her phone on the table in front of her.
The lanky, blonde Alice leaned against the table next to Brittany, watching the others around them. "Maya made out with some Frat guy. Pretty sure they hooked up afterwards too."
"Was she drunk?" Laura raised an eyebrow.
"Oh sure," Alice laxly looked over. "But then again, literally everyone was. I talked to her this morning, you know she was going to be into it."
Laura nodded with a tight smile as Professor Hendricks cleared his throat from the front of the room.
"Class, please silence...silence your conversations. Phones away and all that." Laura glanced at her phone on the table but decided to leave it out for now. She took a quick look around, noting the equal parts male and female composition of the class.
"We're going to be starting a new topic, already. Time flies you know," He smiled and laughed dryly before walking over to the board and moving the front whiteboard aside to reveal the new topic for the class:
