Still suspicious that this isn't a trick, a screen or something, you grab hold of the upper corner of the first page, making as if to rip it out. The initial pull does nothing, the binding tugging back and the page much stronger than its slightly browned appearance would suggest.
"HEY! What's the big idea?", a female voice calls out gruffly and as it does, a bluish form manifests, looking like a small naked girl, her hands wrapped around her immensely swollen belly. "You find a magical artifact and your first instinct is to destroy it? The nerve of some people..."
You stumble back, the book thumping loudly on the floor. "Alive...", you gasp, thoroughly convinced that the book's real at this point. "You... What is this?"
The girl looks at you quizzically before smiling and bending over as much as her belly would allow. As she places a hand on the small of her back and straightens back up, small bulges appear on the surface of her tummy, the baby that's obviously inside kicking excitedly. "Hi Master~ My name is Yuko.", the figure announces. "I'm your assistant when it comes to this book. Anytime you use it or whenever you wanna ask a question, just open it up and ask~"
You nod, looking between her and the book, picking it back up and laying it flat on your table's surface. "So, Yuko", you say, looking to her, "What's with this book?" You've gotten a good idea, reading the rules on the first page, but you want to hear it from her. As she begins to speak, you flip the first page to find an index of many kinds of monster girls, organized by species and sub-species. Mermaid, slime, harpy, all the classics, and unique choices like hobgoblins, khepri, and gandharva.
In a chirpy voice, Yuko announces, "This is the Monster Girl Book of Impregnation", and pats the stack of pages under the index. "The title really says it all, but this is an enchanted book full of spells, where you can impregnate any gal with their own little monster girl bundle of joy, or change an already pregnant woman's baby to a monster girl. You control the species, number of babies, even the week in development. There's a few other things, but you'll get to it eventually, I'm sure."
You flip a few pages in, landing on the 2-page spread for "Flow Kelp".

Mother's skin will develop slight green tinge and slight loss of appetite, due to developing chloroplasts to feed their growing child. In addition, they will be able to strongly grip objects if they so choose due to sticky secretions in the palms and feet.
The page goes on to describe the characteristics of flow kelp and flow kelp pregnancies, giving the incantation for casting a flow kelp pregnancy and complete with picture of a grown flow kelp on the left, and a picture a pregnant woman, barely showing on the right. The picture is above what looks to be a timeline, going from 0 to 40 in increments of 1, and underneath is two sections, one for number of fetuses, one for different view styles.
The picture of the 20-some year old woman starts out with a regular female body, albeit with a tiny swell in her stomach, and the timeline is set to '12', presumably weeks. You drag your finger across and watch her belly swell, going barely noticable to distinctly pregnant, and her hands cup her slightly green, grown middle from bellow. 28 weeks, huh? You go to the second field, tapping the button for 'twins' and watch her tummy grow again to be at least double in size, with visible wiggling and nudges on the surface. You then tap 'triplets', and see her looking as if she was full term with twins. Time for the third field. It also has three options: 'Real-view', 'Naked', and 'X-Ray'. You go straight to x-ray and a transparent window appears in the side of her belly, letting you see the entangled, kicking triplets inside, seeming perfectly happy.
Content with your initial investigation, you lean back, but stop when you see the upper-right hand corner of the book. There's a picture of a set of ovaries and a uterus, with a large number '1' inside. Tapping it, the box expands to say, "Womb is ready" and listing your name, beneath.
"Oh yeah, you're a girl, too, so you can always use it on yourself.", Yuko winks, "It's pretty fuuuun~", she chuckles, and rubs her belly, calming her unborn daughter.
So, you give it some thought, lifting a few pages to look at other options, and decide...
