Chapter #3Celeri Excitatio by: Rita "Lust Spell," Pete gave his sister a funny look, "What would that do, make me fall in love with you?"
"What? Ew, no." Emily grimaced at the thought, "The lust spell has no effect on the witch who casts it. In fact, the spell doesn't do much to the person it's cast on either, not directly anyways. Once the spell has been cast on someone, the next person they make eye contact with will fall madly in love with them. It's would kinda be like a love at first sight sort of thing, except it's magical and they have no choice in the matter,"
"Geez," Pete scratched his head as he thought about the possibilities, "That sounds pretty powerful. And also pretty creepy,"
"Not as creepy as you think," Emily explained, "Sure the person who gets affected certainly didn't sign up for it, but they do genuinely fall in love. they'll still be themselves, just completely infatuated by whoever the spell was cast on. The only thing that will change with them is that they will want to please this person, in any way they can."
"Alright alright," Pete said, "Why are you using this spell? Surely there could be other, better uses for your powers, right?"
"Because it's really easy, Pete. Total beginner stuff. Now stop stalling and let's get this over with" Emily said, as she closed her spell book, "Now all we need for this spell to work is for you to look me in the eyes. Seem easy enough?"
"I guess so," Pete shrugged, as he made direct eye contact with his sister, "Am I doing it right?"
"You sure are, now stand still and try not to blink," Emily commanded, as she took a deep breath and recited the spell, "Celeri Excitatio!" With the magical words spoken, Emily’s eyes glowed a bright green. Although unsettled by the freaky light show his sister's eyes were giving, Pete couldn't feel anything. He just stood there awkwardly, staring into his sister’s green lit eyes. After what had been at least half a minute, Emily eyes stopped glowing and she appeared to be rather excited. "Oh, good," She said with a smile "It worked,"
"What are you talking about," Pete gave his sister the appropriate look you give someone who believes they just performed magic, "Besides your eyes lighting up, nothing happened. I don't feel any different,"
"Well of course you don't feel different, you big doofus. The spell doesn't change you, it changes the first person to make eye contact with you. That's where this comes along," Emily said, while taking out a blindfold she had hidden until now, "I'm going to put this on you, take you somewhere with a lot of people, and see who falls in love with you first."
"I don't know about this, Emily," Pete said, as his sister approached with the blindfold.
"Too bad you don't have much say in the matter," Emily told her little brother, as she tied the blindfold around his head, "Now this is happening, try to enjoy it. Now come on, I'm going to drive us there," And with that, Emily pulled her blinded brother by the hand towards the her car. Pete sighed heavily, regretting ever agreeing to his sister's seemly crazy delusions. He had no idea she was going to take it this far, and now he was going to be dragged in front of strangers in a blindfold. Pete decided to just get over with it though, know that his sister certainly wasn't going to stop any time soon.
...
"Here we are!" Emily exclaimed, as she tore off Pete's blindfold. After Emily had driven them to some random location, Pete was again dragged by his sister for about twenty minutes. Pete had no clue where he was, but with the blindfold gone, he could clearly see he was in... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
