"Aha, finally!"
Child prodigy Connie adjusted her glasses, and closed the flap to the control panel of her new invention; a shrinking ray!
While it wasn't the most portable, being almost two feet long and weighing a considerable amount, young Connie was sure that this prototype of hers would pave the future of modern science as she knew it. After all, there were endless possibilities for a machine that could shrink or grow things.
Growing food to giant proportions and combating world hunger.
Reducing the size of criminals to stop overpopulation in prisons.
Perhaps even shrinking entire civilisations to fight against the overcrowding of large cities!
"Endless!" She reiterated to herself, running a hand through her greasy brunette hair and realising that perhaps she needed a shower.
"Now, should probably test it before going any further with the celebrations..." She muttered to no one, heaving the ray off of her workbench and adjusting the strap to fit her skinny frame, "but what on...?"
