Chapter #4
The aura of bad bedside awakenings
by: Unknown
Even before the sun had risen up, there was the feeling of disaster in the air. It started with a frog croaking in a wrong note due to a sore throat. This sour note created a ripple in the small pond the frog sat on. This ripple spread out in a square pattern, confusing and frighting a small flock of ducks on the shore. The upset ducklings waddled to a nearby tree, their mother loudly honking in protest. This honking awoke a squirrel one minute before it normally did. Enraged, the squirrel took one of the hardest nuts it could find a tossed it down at the noisemakers. This acorn missed the target and began rolling along the hillside. The acorn passed under a raccoon, whose paw broke the nut open while tripping the raccoon. This raccoon believed a snake was underfoot and darted towards the nearest shelter. This shelter just so happened to be in a trashcan which unfortunately was already taken by another rac coon. As the two fought, rubbish in the trashcan began to fly out and roll down the pavement. One particular piece of newspaper caught the eye of a bluebird, who picked it up and soared high into the sky. The bird swallowed the paper, not realizing it was about to enter a struggle for air it wouldn't win. As the bird squirmed, a single feather came off and blew around in the air. This feather floated through town on that disaster filled air until it reached Sugar cube corner. The window was open and the feather was blown in. Lightly, ever so gently, it landed into the tufts of pink hair belonging to one Pinkie Pie. That one feather, charged with all of negitivity passed to it, was about to become the undoing of life as Canterlot High knew it.
The alarm on Pinkie's bed jingled a soft, harmonious tune....which was met with an oversized hammer whamming it into pieces. Pinkie's eyes twitched in anger as her fluffy hair deflated. Her light and happy demeanor was nowhere in sight as she stomped out of bed. She looked in a mirror for a slight second, no speck of happy ness on her. "I'm....in....a bad mood." She growled as she grabbed her bag and headed out, both a light sucking aura and her outside clothes appearing out of nowhere.
