A low growl emanated from the wood on the right side.
"W- Wh- What was that?" Laura stuttered.
"It sounded like a growl." Steven pointed out matter of factedly.
"Well no, DUH, Mr. Smart Ass!" Laura retorted with a snort. "What, though, sounded the growl? Do tell, if you're so knowledgeable." Laura folded her arms and waited for Steven's response.
"Ahh. Ha ha... ha...." Steven's chuckles faded as Laura's glare intensified. "Well, ah, you see..."
"Yes? I don't see. Pray, do tell."
"I think"
"You think?!" Laura bellowed. "We're in the middle of the woods, following a fairy and a growl comes out and you think that you know where it comes from?"
"Well, I can't be 100% sure until I see it, but if it is what I think it is, I don't think you want me to be 100% sure."
"Stop thinking and start knowing." Laura snapped.
"Fine. From the growl tone and the deep, guttural sound it had, I inferenced that it was a dragon."
"A... WHAT?!"
"A dragon. I told you there was one in the woods, remember?
Laura facepalmed. "And you still got us lost out here? You realize that we'll be the easiest targets in these woods, right? We're small, slow, and meat." She pointed out.
Steven realized the gravity of the situation, but wasn't sure what to do.
