Darrin asked, “So how exactly are you just going to sell us to a zoo?”
Ricky pulled out his computer, “Easy! Everything is done on the internet now. Check this out!” Ricky pulled up a website that was like the Want-Ads for zoos. They listed the animals they wanted for exhibit and it was quite detailed.
After scrolling through the page for bit, Darin pointed, “There we go! Being a cheetah sounds thrilling!”
Ricky nodded, “You are in luck. The zoo in the next town is looking for adult female cheetahs. Wow! And they are paying 1000 dollars each! We could end up making some money out of this!”
Darrin began to daydream. He was picturing himself as a cheetah running around as fast as he could. He figured zoo enclosures had to be big enough for cheetahs to run around freely. The best part was not having to actually hunt down any food. The zoo would certainly give him food every day. Darin then asked, “Wait a second? Did you say female? Aren’t there any ads for male cheetahs?”
Ricky explained, “The majority of the requests from zoos were looking for female animals. Most animals live in packs or herds and only have one Alpha Male. They most likely already have an Alpha male. So if you want to be a cheetah, you’ll have to be a chick-cheetah.”
Darrin replied, “Oh. I guess that makes sense.”
Ricky kept scrolling and found another request, “Oh here’s one for a male chimpanzee.”
Darrin thought about it, “Nah. Too close to humans. And we’d be naked all the time.”
Ricky laughed, “No matter what animal we choose, we are going to be naked.”
Darrin nodded, “I know. But if I became a chimp I’d rather be a female. It would be weird to jump around trees and stuff naked with male parts dangling all around.”
Ricky pointed out, “There's want-ads for female chimps too. I think it would be a blast to be a primate of any sort. Being able to swing from tree-to-tree, jumping around all over the place…throwing poop at people walking by…”
Darrin laughed, “That would hilarious!”
Ricky then found another request, “There’s one here asking for giraffes! That would be quite the experience having a long neck and eating off of trees up high!” He then found another one and said, “Oh yea! Check this request out! This zoo is looking to start a lion exhibit! They are looking for an adult male lion and a female lion! That way we could keep an eye on each other! And we could be kings of the jungle! ”
Darrin joked, “Technically, one of us would end up being the ‘Queen’ of the jungle. How do we decide who gets to be who?”
Ricky “Like we always do. We have a video game competition to see who has to end up as the girl.” Ricky then winked, “Or YOU could just volunteer to save you the embarrassment of another loss!”
Darrin glared at Ricky. Darrin was still in the female body of Ricky’s choice since he lost their most recent medallion challenge. Because he lost, he had to go out with him last night and make it look like Ricky scored another hot date. Darrin pushed his purse over to Ricky and said, “You better get used to carrying one of these! There’s no way I’m losing to you two times in a row!”
Ricky laughed, “Animals don’t carry purses you moron.”
Darrin smiled, “It was a symbolic gesture!”
Ricky then got an idea. “Okay Mister Confident….Or shall I say Misses Confident for the time being….Let’s make this interesting. I know you want to be a cheetah the most. I’m leaning towards being a giraffe or a primate. Although being a Lion and having my loyal lioness with me sounds tempting! So let’s play ONE game and winner decides what we do!”
“You're on!” Darrin said excitedly as the two friends headed to the TV.
