With Ivy's dominance of the Earth complete and her transformation into the bloated Avatar of Gaia well under way, it seemed like all hope really was lost. The heroes were all dead or under her control, and even Superman and the Justice League had retreated from the planet, taking however many innocent people he could find to settle them on a new world. And with no outside powers willing or interested enough to intervene, it didn't seem like there was anyone left that was powerful enough to stop her.
Not that that stopped a few enterprising individuals.
While the fall of Batman was devastating for Gothamites and in time the world, it was business as usual for Barbara Gordon, otherwise known as Oracle. She had helped to keep Gotham safe when the earthquake devastated the city years ago without Bruce, and while she faced an uphill battle and an enemy more powerful then anyone in No Man's Land, she was prepared to do whatever it took to save the world from Pamela's wicked tendrils. Her new base of operations may be small and secretive, but she had a small legion of drones and robots and years of supplies to help fuel her war against the new and improved Poison Ivy, so she wasn't about to give up just yet. Even if all those processed foods she was eating (Ivy would know if someone was eating the fresh produce that her babies produced) were starting to have a dramatic effect on her...
But perhaps the biggest mistake Ivy made during her conquest was to placate the villains she once aligned herself with, rather then drive them off like the heroes. Most of them were content to live in their fiefdoms and fortresses granted to them by Ivy; Talia al Ghul was not one of them. Talia had suffered greatly under Ivy's conquest, losing her beloved Bruce and seeing her Father go down fighting trying to stop Ivy's takeover of the planet. She had lied and told Ivy that their sacrifices were necessary, and perhaps told herself that too, indulging in hedonistic fantasies in her palace to fill the hole left in her heart. She would have gone on like that, had Ivy not found and dragged her beloved son Damien, the last of Bruce left in this world, and took his mind from him. It was the last straw, and the push Talia al Ghul needed to bring back the League of Shadows and begin her plot to overthrow this new tyrant.
Of course, some had less noble and altruistic problems with the new regime. Harley Quinn for instance had been one of Ivy's greatest allies, and had been richly rewarded for that loyalty with everything her heart desired. She traded dingy backalley warehouses for a grand mansion, filled with all the video games and comics she could find, a brainwashed staff to look after her and make the biggest and tastiest meals in the world, and above all, her darling Mr. J at her side, given a brainwashing by Poison Ivy to be the doting, kind-hearted love that Harley deserved. She had just about everything she could ever want, and by the time a few months passed, she realized it kinda sucked. There was no one online to play games with anymore, all her favorite comic book and tv show storylines remained uncompleted, and the only people she ever talked to were mind controlled, lifeless imitations of real people. The only thing to break up the boredom were the impressive feasts that her staff served to her, and even those were beginning to get sort of stale (though Harley gobbled them up all the same). It didn't take long for Harley to consider that maybe Ivy's takeover of the entire Earth was seriously screwing with her leisure time!
So the question is, who's going to be the one behind the plot to overthrow Ivy's big fat butt?
