"What's a goodra doing here?" A Goodra! Elen recoils in surprise. She was searching for plums but instead found a rather shapely goodra.
"Well that's rude." The goodra in question folds her arms. "This is my orchard, and you're asking me why I'm here? I should be asking you why you're here." She gives a stern look to the Togekiss, almost suspicious of her presence.
"Well I was looking for plums but it seems I don't have right to anything here." Elen landed and looked off to the side. "I didn't expect someone to own this orchard." Elen says while admiring the trees. The goodra's face lights up a bit after she said that.
"Well to be honest I don't technically own this orchard. I just sorta found it and touched it up. I didn't think I'd be good at gardening but here I am!" Jasmina bashfully rubbed the back of her head. "No one else had claimed it either so I guess I own it.. sort of. That's how it works right?" She looked at Elen with an uncertain expression.
"You have right to your labors. That's a pretty basic principle." Elen said as if it were a matter of fact. The Goodra smiled and gestured for the fairy to follow her.
"Well if it's plums you're lookin for I know where they are." Jasmina lead Elen through the fruit trees and bushes leaving a distinct slime trail. Elen wrinkled her nose a bit at the smell of the trail.
"Smells like you're a contestant." Elen says, both as a statement and as a question.
"Yep! Haven't really done many matches but I just love crushing the opposition. Know what I'm saying? What about you though? You smell like a tourist." The Goodra says with a wide, smug, grin.
"Now who's being rude?" Elen growled in indignation. "I'll have you know I'm a champion." Elen puffs her chest out while gliding, she even turned her nose snootily up into the air.
"Haaah? Really?" Jasmina said skeptically. "Well color me surprised! You neither smell or look the part. Sure you're not pulling a joke on me?" She stopped and leaned towards Elen. Jasmina eye level with Elen before narrowing her eyes at her and saying, "Bet I could floor ya, hun."
"Just because one can stink doesn't mean one should all the time! I'm surprised your trees aren't twisting themselves and shriveling up." Elen retorts angrily. Jasmina initially had a frown directed at Elen but the Goodra abruptly started laughing and once again started leading Elen.
"Plums are over here. You're a riot." Jasmina said with a giggle. Elen gave her a confused a expression.
"What? What's so funny? I just insulted you." Elen questioned the slug dragon. Jasmina started plucking plums from the tree. She was slow and deliberate with each pick. Easily tall enough to calmly check each plum before picking it.
"Around here that sort of thing is almost like a backhanded compliment. I just couldn't help but laugh at how seriously you took all that. Lighten up." Jasmina said cheerfully before offering Elen plums. "How many did you need?" Elen glares at the slime covered plums and then to the Goodra.
"Actually I was hoping to pick them out myself. I'm working on a new perfume and I need plum extract. Not just any plum will do. This will take an expert eye and nose to discern." Elen explained to Jasmina. Jasmina gave her a blank stare before giggling.
"No kidding," Jasmina said with a shrug. "I dunno, sure you don't wear enough perfume?" She started munching on the plums that Elen rejected.
"It's not for me, well, not just for me. I sell them. This place gets tourists." Elen had flown up and was inspecting the plums growing from the tree individually. Jasmina's head tilted to the side with a confused expression. She shrugged it off and let Elen continue to work. Elen eventually came down with just one plum.
"All that work for just one plum?" Jasmina raised a brow as only a Goodra could. Elen smiled.
"One's all I need and this one's perfect." The sneaky fairy said cryptically. The slug dragon shrugged at her and waved dismissively. The two stood there taking in the sight of the orchard. At least that Elen was doing. Jasmina still seemed to be glancing at Elen, wondering why she hasn't left yet among other things.
"Really. I don't see how a perfume business could work here," Jasmina said, shaking her head, "but more power to ya. You seem into it." Jasmina said cheerfully while wondering in the back of her mind if anyone actually brought Elen's brands. She could barely stand whatever she had on at the moment. Elen looked at Jasmina and felt an odd kinship to her. It was strange to have a normal conversation in a place like this. At least one that wasn't revolving around trash talk or while one was trying to stink the place up.
"Likewise with your gardening." Elen said politely. The two stood there in silence for a moment. Jasmina eating her plums and Elen contemplating her life up until now. After a while...
