These special story paths are where the Yu-Gi-Oh! series join other universes of any kind (video game, movie, anime, whatever people can imagine).
Here, Yu-Gi-Oh! series can crossover everything, and even themselves (to say, characters from different timeline in Yu-Gi-Oh! can meet eachother, for example Téa Gardner from the first series and Yuya Sakaki from Arc-V. Even if technically they're not from the same decade at all).
Even though the story can (or will) takes place in a different universe or mixed-universe, the only rule is that it should still and always focus on the Yu-Gi-Oh! characters (and not divert to only the other universe characters).
We are still in a YGO interactive story after all.
