Count dooku was on his way to naboo to capture Padme Amidalla, he had found out about her relationship with anakin Skywalker and was going to capture her to lure anakin too her

As his ship and his Droid escort of 100s landed they marched into the capital, Count Dooku easily cut through every guard that dared to stand in his way,they finally captured senator Amidalla bringing her back to Dookus separatist cruiser where they chained her up immediately.
