A half-hour later, Liz found herself at home. Upon arriving home, she had fixed herself a quick dinner; she was not in the mood for anything fancy (and she wasn't all that hungry), so she settled for a microwaved cup of noodles.
As the styrofoam cup rotated in the microwave, she, once again, pulled out the remote. She wasn't sure what had possessed her back there to take it along with her, but even now, she felt somewhat drawn to it. Was it curiosity? Did she instinctively know that the remote contained a power beyond most of modern human technology? Or maybe, deep down, she had... interesting tastes.
No matter the reason, she once again looked over the two buttons, one reality changing button and one... that did not change reality.
Liz was positive it was still a prank, but a voice spoke to her in the back of her mind. Why not try it out? What could it harm?
Still, if she wanted to test this device, she wanted to, at the very least keep it within a small group, she wanted to ensure she only swapped people that were close to her. After all, she wanted to make sure everyone was within range to reset things if things went awry.
Still, the only person she could really think of testing it on at this point was her own husband... and herself. Her husband was scheduled to return from work in ten short minutes. She could test it then...
BEEP!
The sound of the microwave going off shocked her out of her stupor. She shook her head. Why am I getting worked up over this? It is not going to work.
