Chapter #5Neck by: Unknown Now, you've always dreamed of being headless, and holding the blade as it glows a bright green you think it'd be interesting to give your body a mind of its own. You hold it up to your neck, slicing through about half way up, making sure you get a good amount of neck on both your head and body. The glowing blade feels warm against the ends of your neck as it passes through.
With the cut finished you of course still find your head attached with time frozen. You reach up, grabbing your head and pull it off. For now you still have control over your body, but that will change once the cut is locked in. You turn yourself around to get a good look at your headless body. You did an excellent job cutting as your body is left with a strong neck stump, good and flat across the top.
You turn yourself back around to see where you are going as you navigate your body over to the desk in your room. Third person navigation isn't actually as difficult as you imagined it would be. You then set yourself down on your desk, enjoying the sensation of the desk's surface pressed against the bottom of your neck, solidifying that you are a disembodied head. You then make your body back up.
"Here we go" you say as you press the red button.
Suddenly you lose all the feeling and control you just had below your neck, leaving yourself truly as just a head. The birds fly once more as time resumes, but that wasn't the main event. You watch as your headless body stumbles back, newly headless and with its own mind. It drops the hilt before bringing it hands up to grasp its headless neck, getting a feeling for what's going on. After an initial shock, your body walks over and picks you up, inspecting you. You find it a bit amusing as your body spins you all about investigating its former head. Your body then sets you back on your desk before sitting down in the chair and booting your computer.
It opens a blank document, typing. "Hey there, how is being a head?" your body types, seemingly aware of the situation.
"Good so far, haven't been used as a bowling ball yet" you joke to which you can see your body laugh.
"I can change that" it types.
You return a laugh, "Maybe later, that actually sounds kinda fun" you admit. Your body gives a thumbs up. "So how is being headless? You can see and hear?" you ask.
"It feels great! Such a weight off my shoulders" your body starts the head puns. "and yeah, but I can't talk, so phones seem pretty helpful now. Plus, the top of my neck feels pretty good". Your body then rubbing its stump a little.
You chuckle a bit, wondering about rubbing the bottom of your neck, well getting it rubbed. "So, who's the original of us? Like are you just my body or am I just your head?" you ask your body, remembering that you've changed reality so you need to be prepared for how other people are used to you, and your body's opinion on the matter is likely how everyone in this new reality has treated the two of you.
Your body says... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
