You decide to go watch the girls playing soccer. You set up a good distance away from the field so that you have a clear view of the players, but they won't notice you unless they really look for you. Scouting the game, you see that the two teams, one red and one white, are made up of 6 players. Since they were playing on a smaller field than normal, the players got clustered up a lot, which meant you would have some good chances to hit multiple players at once with the beam.
Before you start firing at the players in the middle of the field, you decide to test it out on one of the goalies so you can get an idea of what you can do with the gun. On the far side of the field, the red team's goalie, a lean brunette of slightly above average height, was just standing there. She looked bored since the ball hadn't come her way in a while, and with the way things were looking, it wouldn't be coming anytime soon. This made her the perfect subject for your test.
Setting the gun to grow, you take aim at the goalie, firing a short burst. Almost instantly you can see her bump up a little, about 2 inches at most. Since she didn't seem to notice, you fire another one, slightly longer this time. Like before, you see her grow a couple inches, and like before, she made no indication that anything had changed. You realize that all her clothes had grown with her too, which must have been why she hadn't noticed her growing. If she wasn't going to notice herself getting bigger, you decided that you had to find out how much bigger you could make her before she finally noticed.
The rest of the game was still concentrated in the other side of the field, so you had plenty of time to focus on the goalie. Taking aim, you started firing a long, continuous beam at her, watching as she steadily inched up. She had started out as a normal sized girl before you arrived, to a tall, but not unreasonably so, one after your first test shots. But now that she was past the 6 foot mark and still rising, she was starting to become unusually tall, even for a guy. She had already grown more than a foot since you started this burst, and she still didn't notice. If anything, you thought she looked even more bored than before, while the gap between her and the top of the goal became smaller with each passing second.
You finally let go of the trigger when the goalie's head was on an equal level with the top of the goal, putting her at a staggering 8 feet tall. Other than the fact that she had grown 2 and a half feet in a matter of minutes, she looked exactly the same as when you had first seen her. Her clothes still fit her the same, her proportions were unchanged, and she still had the same bored expression on her face. You took a moment to ponder your next move, before. . .
