"hmm..." You began to think up a different surprise. Your original plan probably wouldn't work because the portal would be too small for him to notice you waving. Besides, you wanted it to be a special surprise.
"Oh! I know!" You clasped your left fist into your right palm.
You opened up a cabinet in the lab that had office supplies. Grabbing a stapler, you stapled a few large sheets of paper side-by-side.
"Hmm.. guess this should be big enough..." You pulled it open widely in front of you.
Grabbing a black marker, you began to trace out letters on the lengthy scroll of paper.
You retraced the letters three-times-over so it would be bold enough to see
[Cody! Go outside!] is what you had written.
Your plan would be to send the portal high up near the ceiling so you could drop your message down to him. Then when he leaves his house, then you'll be able to surprise him AGAIN with your original plan.
Walking over to your computer you began to type in the coordinates for Cody's house. On the monitor you could see a 3D lined rendering of his house and everything inside. All you need to do was find where he was and where you needed to place the portal.
