Ami was alarmed, of course... but also confident. She had beaten this girl at her game once, she could surely do so again.
"Fine. Let's get this over with." Ami didn't mean to sound overly sure of herself, but for once, she felt it was justified. She knew the game and her opponent. How could she lose? The female with the sky blue ponytail smiled as if it were the sweetest gesture in the world as they took opposite seats at a nearby booth. Ami took vague note of the fact that the booth was situated beside a window, and near the central most location of the shop.
Berthier bowed her head ever so slightly, made a gesture with one gloved palm, and a crystalline chess set appeared between them.
"Well then, let's begin... but do keep in mind..."
Ami blinked, some alarm settling in as the other woman's smile formed into a serpentine grin.
"For every piece I claim, I take a piece of your clothing too."
"W, what? You... you never said..."
"Nor did you ask. Ah, my move." Berthier was again all smiles as she reached out and moved a pawn into place. "No turning back, Ami. Your move."
