Blalak the goblin warchief, killer of men, eater of women and all round bad guys guard slipped. The human warriors sword completely bypassed and went right into his neck chopping most of the way through. The goblin finally feel down. He was dead before he even hit the ground. The dozens of smaller goblins watching stopped their jeers and losing all their courage and gaining a bit of common sense in exchange all ran away.
…
Upon the goblin was a necklace of live spiders. The as the goblin fell they all used to draglines to escape to the roof of the cave. They watched the warrior, no hero, free all the captives and then, as is tradition, loot some chests.
Alborous, the youngest the smallest of the spiders noticed something. "Were way more then an inch apart the curse must have broken when Blalak died."
Crusidell, the oldest and largest of the spiders, although still only just an inch across spoke next, "since that hero saved us from a life of misery we should help him out. Let us follow him until be can figure out how to introduce ourselves."
They did so, using their webslinging skills to keep up as the hero guided the captive out of the cave. They then followed it back to the village of Hawklor. The ballooned to get in the air then crusidell, who being the biggest should shoot web the furthest grappling hooked them across the ground. The best of the spiders attached themselves to Crusidell. They got to the village a few minutes after the Hero. The hello was receiving many shoulder crosses when they got there from the grateful villagers.
They learnt the heroes name was Grunstut, and that he had already done heroic deeds there. Guarding caravan from bandits and rescuing pilgrims from an ogre.
Ellidive a boy spider you just happened to be pink also heard listened as a feast was prepared in the heroes honour. He also heard about other heroes such as Tallys who seemed after gone everywhere and done almost everything whilst saving everyone in the world an average of 21 times. "Being and adventurer sure sounds exciting, we should do that."
Alborous, who as the smallest was the most cautious countered "and how will we do that, we're really tiny, we couldn't take down a baby tarn rat even if we all worked together."
Crusidell then spoke up "there may be a way to fix it, When I was young I heard legends of a spider that grew larger whenever it did heroic deeds. Apparently it ended up as large as thane's castle. Eventually it died from fighting and defeating some sort of giant demon. Its heart, which would never rot, could apparently give the same power to other spiders, but could be twisted for evil. It was sealed in a tomb with may traps, puzzles and guardians so that only an very skilled adventurer with the help of several spiders could get to it. The location of Tomb is lost but part of the magic upon it ensures that the location will become know to one who can and should delve it."
"An skilled adventurer like this guy, and spiders like us," said ellidive excitedly.
"Perhaps," said Crusidell "but he'll he a lot experience and better equipment to be able to handle that tomb, the guardians are very strong and traps very deadly. Also we've got to be friends first the legends were quite clear about that too."
"We'll have to get to now him first, at the very least he'll kill any goblins that try to curse us to jewellery again," suggest Alborous. "Well have to contact him soon, he won't be able to keep up when he moves on."
