A king and nine of spades slightly improved your hand, if only bumping up your next highest card to a king instead of a jack, still at least your hand wasn't any worse off.
"A trio of queens, it almost reflects our table right now, does it not?" says Elizabeth, giggling softly as she reveals her cards.
Jessica frowns as she lays down her cards, only a meager pair of fives, "Close, but not quite. You've set the bar pretty high, and I'm feeling I might come up short this round."
"A pair of fives isn't the best starting hand, but hey on the other hand, the night has just begun. Losing a round right now isn't going to mean too much." replies the black-haired fighter laying down a pair of kings.
Aika has a happy grin on her face, showing off her pair of nines, "Don't feel too down Jessica, I mean someone has to lose every round, and you can't have [i]my[/i] luck! And hey, who knows, he might have something worse then a pair of fives."
Jessica glances towards you for confirmation, and you respond with a casual shrug and innocent smile, showing off your pair of sevens. The orange-haired girl returns the innocent smile, reaching under the table, "Oh well, like I said, its mostly luck in this set-up."
It doesn't take long for Jessica to procure her nice pair of boots, raising them up for show, before setting them aside. Looking down at the table, you notice someone has already gone and dealt out new cards, you spare a glance at them before returning your attention to the ladies.
"Probably for the best, I think if we had betting going on, Elizabeth would probably have an undefeatable poker face."
The mysterious girl slightly tilts her head to the side, "Is that so? I have heard of this 'poker face' before, but I confess to not understanding the thought behind it. Still, if it would've given me an advantage, it would make for a interesting night for me. I hope you will all soon be completely bare for me."
"I know you had the highest hand for the opening round, but don't get too cocky about it alright? I'd much rather keep my clothes on for the night..." replies Tifa with a slight shake of her head.
"Yeah me too! Hey, can I keep the clothes if I win? I'd rather prefer some kind of physical treasure, so maybe I can keep your clothes! And if you want them back, maybe you can try to haggle for it. Memories are nice and all, but actual goods tend to be more useful."
"You know, I'm not really sure if that's how the rules work. Was there anything in the fine print on if we actually don't get our clothes back after the forfeit? I guess its a little early to be worried about that. Not like my boots are anything special."
