After what seemed like hours in another agonizingly boring day at school, you quickly retreated to your living room, not even bothering to greet your parents. You were just far too exhausted to even wave at them. Collapsing on the couch, you grabbed the remote, switching on the TV. Now you finally had the chance to watch your favorite show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in peace. Despite how weird your parents thought it was for a sixteen year-old girl like you to watch a show geared towards young boys, you couldn't help but love it.
It also concerned your parents that you didn't have much of a social life outside of the internet, and said internet social life revolved around this particular show. They weren't sure yet, but this seemed like an unhealthy obsession. You merely rolled your eyes whenever they mentioned your 'problem'. It's not like you needed to make a lot of friends, right? Right.
Ugh, parents. What did they know? But you put any thoughts of your parents aside, and focused on how rad this show was...
Until your mom pulled her usual bullshit, and turned off your TV.
"Mom!" You cried. "What the frick frack did you do that for?!"
Your mother simply scoffed in response. You half-expected her to wag her finger at you in a scolding manner, but she did not.
"I think this obsession of yours has gone too far, honey. You need to go outside, make some friends, and get some fresh air! There's more to life than watching a cartoon about big ninja frogs--"
"Turtles, mom."
"Turtles. But do you understand what I'm getting at?"
"Yeah." You responded with a huff, crossing your arms. "And it's dumb. Making friends is lame, and fresh air is so overrated."
You mother frowned in response, sighing sadly as she looked at you, concern clear in her eyes. She bit her lip, as if she was going to tell you that your dog just got hit by a car...Which actually wasn't what she was going to say, of course. Your family didn't even own a dog.
"Honey..." She began. "You can't do this anymore. You always stay in front of the TV like a zombie, or lock yourself up in your room all day!"
"Uh huh. Mom...Can I go back to watching my show now?" You asked, uninterested in whatever she was about to say. Your mother sighed, leaving you in peace as she walked away. You took this chance to pick up the remote to turn on the TV, groaning as you realized that the power button wasn't working for some reason. "Stupid thing..." You mumbled, tossing the remote to the side. You got up from your seat to inspect the TV, cringing as it suddenly switched on without warning, the loud sound of screeching static invading your ears.
That was the last thing you remembered before blacking out.
Your eyes suddenly fluttered open, your vision returning. As everything slowly became less foggy, you couldn't help but think that this place looked...familiar somehow. But why was everything so huge?
"Ungh...I've gotta be on drugs or something..."
Suddenly, something large was coming your way. What was it?
