You figured that the girls couldn't have gotten too far ahead of you in the short time it took you to reform, so you ran off to catch up to them. As you got closer to the water slide, you started having flashbacks to the first time you met Mary. You had gone off on your own (though your mother had explicitly told you not to) and ran into a couple of little kids, an obnoxious little bully and the sweet little girl who would become your girlfriend.
"Heh, man. This takes me back", you said to yourself. Looking up at the line, you saw that it was absurdly long. Being the middle of summer, this was to be expected. You look carefully through the long line of people for several minutes before you find them, right in the middle of the line. There was no way you were going to be able to get Mary or her friends through all of the people behind them. "Dammit! How the hell am I gonna get to them now?", you thought to yourself. You thought for sure that you would be able to get to them in time, but alas, it was not to be.
You could try to squeeze though the crowd. At your small size, it would be pretty easy to slip through undetected. Or you could wait at the bottom. Despite the risk of getting squished, it does bring back more memories. Mary might think it was romantic if you recreated the moment when you first met.
Or, since it would be a while before they would even get to the slide, you could go have some fun on your own. It's not every day you get a moment to yourself, after all.
