For a brief moment Weiss thought she had gotten Ruby’s attention. However, as the team leader slipped off her boots and kicked them to the side Weiss realised with a surge of adrenaline just what was about to happen. Leaping to the side she just barely managed to get out of the road as Ruby’s stocking-clad foot came down on the bed, sinking deeply into the mattress as the brunette levered her entire weight onto the appendage and reached up for her hanging bed.
Having avoided being caught under the foot by barely an inch, Weiss had to scramble to try to avoid being sucked down into the depression caused by her leader’s weight. For a frantic second she griped tightly onto the sheets before Ruby’s weight lifted away once again and the younger girl swung herself up fully onto her bed. With the sudden shift in weight, the heiress lost her grip and found herself lying in the residual crater left behind by her friend’s careless footfall.
Breathing deeply and staring up at the now slightly swaying bed of her teammate, Weiss did her best not to descend into another panic attack, but it was hard when all she could think about was how close she had just come to being crushed beneath Ruby. And that no one would have ever known.
Completely unaware of their friend’s distress, Blake and Yang grabbed their gym bags from beneath their bunk bed and casually strolled over to the heiress’s bed, their colossal shadows falling over the frightened girl as they looked up at Ruby. The blonde met her sister’s silver eyes and shot her a quick grin. “Me and Blake are going to head to the gym for a bit Rubes. We’ll let you know if we see Weiss.”
Weiss didn’t bother listening to Ruby’s response. It didn’t matter right now. She had to make a choice. She could stay here and try to get Ruby’s attention… somehow. Or she could try and make the jump to Blake and Yang and get their attention instead. Her leader would, presumably, remain relatively still for the time being, but the heiress didn’t exactly have overwhelming confidence in the younger girl’s ability to deal with this situation. Blake and Yang would probably be better bets for getting help, but she may have more difficulty getting their attention in these circumstances.
Knowing she didn’t have time to ponder her options for long, Weiss…
