Chapter #4

Sabrina's subtle frustration

    by: A_Fetsi Author IconMail Icon
In Saffron City Gym, it had been less busy season with the trainers. Sabrina was residing by her desk, having taken care of the more mundane paperwork required regularily from a Gym Leader. Yes, not something really shown, often because it is simply boring to watch.

While she has always taken pleasure of her position, challenging the trainers to duel against psychic types and learn what works best against the type. That was one of the important points about different gyms specializing in different types. No matter how much a trainer would be intending to specialize in certain types, they would have to at least learn the basics and that includes becoming familiar with the pokemon types out there. This would softly force them to train at least one or two pokemons strong against certain types so they will not be caught too offguard when things would get serious. And thus, become better trainers in general.

However, what was burdening Sabrina at the time was less involved with pokemon and more about the other big thing in her life. Being a psychic. She was a real deal, able to match and exceed most psychic type pokemon with what she can do, from similar things to the techniques they use to... something different. She has been known to be able to shrink down people, perhaps through molecular rearrangement or some other means. Would perhaps be too complex to explain without it looking like pulling something out of one's arse.

Still, there is people who doubt psychics are real, whether because the ones getting in news or heard about in contests turn out to be fakes, only aided by their pokemon... or they are just people taking advantage out of gullible people. It can be argued that such uncertainty can be an advantage to keep people away from bothering psychics, though she did get frustrated whenever people specialized in busting hoaxes and supernatural phenomenon would appear. Seriously, nitpickers raise their ugly smug heads even when you have ghost pokemon messing up conceptions about afterlife or you get the occasional possible alien pokemon if what is told of such creatures as Deoxys is of any indication. Those people could be annoying with their nosy attitudes and not believing even the most obvious signs of her about to prove her powers on their sorry asses. And sometimes she did. Such satisfying moments, seeing them squirm or trying to futilely argue that her towering over them was just a hallucination.

Granted, she'd not do any permanent damage on them, just a trauma at most, hopefully making them stop being such annoying little fu-

... Then she came to what she had been also frustrated about. She knew her psychic powers were immense. But how immense? Has she ever really pushed her abilities to their extend or what her limits were... no, she didn't have any ideas of world domination or anything. She was... just feeling impotent. Feeling like she's confined within a box too small, not really being able to stretch out, not without breaking things like it was nothing.

... More the reason that she had to really finally do something about it. Making sure no one was looking, she stretched and let out a long groan or yell to relieve herself a bit. Get some clarity.

Then, looking upon a spoon on the table. Bending it was really one of the first things she did, that was child's play. Literally... but what if she tried something else to it.

She looked down on it... then with little effort, she shrank it down. That was not a problem. Then she made it resume in size... and then made it grow bigger... and bigger... then it was the size of an oar when she snapped out of it. With a doll on a shelf sitting down, almost as if in looking down at what she was doing, Sabrina examined the spoon. It was feeling the same. With its structure having been adjusted within so that it did not collapse under its weight. Not even if it was made much much bigger.

Perhaps... she could do the same on a living being... or maybe even herself...

You have the following choices:

1. She walks into a gym or outdoors

2. Then someone enters

*Noteb*
3. Something else.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
