A cosh in the dark, surprises Jack sending him ...

Jack quickly found the broken window. His feet crunching a shard of glass beneath his feet. The damage was only to one pane. But, it had been opened, and the wind whipped in.

Stepping of the shard, he saw it has shattered into tiny fragments beneath the impact of his foot. A sound immediately behind him was the belated warning he couldn't heed. Before his world tilted at an unsettling angle. Pain ringing through his skull as he fell to the ground.

He was distantly aware of hitting the floor. The world looking odd at right angles to how it should. A foot landed in front of his face, before it too turned grey and was engulfed by the thickening darkness.
