Rex folds up his hand around Derrick. "I'll keep you as my pet, little human. I will gather more pets before the others do." A shiver runs down Derrick's spine. Are there more giant gods like Rex? Are they friendly? Are they cruel? Presently he seems harmless as he hasn't smashed or swallowed him. But it soon changes when in his other hand, he pulls from the bench a sparkling golden chain. In the middle of it is a gold cage, human-sized. It doesn't take much to figure out what Rex does with this.
He flips the door open, "Step inside, my tiny pet." The disowned farmer has no other option. From the reopened palm he steps off into the cage. The door slams behind him and the lock fastens magically. He is trapped as the giant slips the chain over his head and down his neck. Derrick grips the bars for dear life as the cage comes to rest between Rex's mountainous pecs. Rex leans over and gives his passenger an unplanned panoramic view of town as he finds more tiny people for his collection.
