You are the fearless bounty hunter, Samus Aran. You were just heading back to your room after a training session to get your Power Suit. The Hands had said you weren't allowed to switch into your Zero Suit mid battle like you did during the last tournament, but you could still use it if you entered the tournament twice, once as Power Suit Samus and once as Zero Suit Samus. You weren't going to miss the chance to beat some of the guys twice, so you had been training twice as hard to make sure you were just as power without the power suit as you were with it. On the way back to the room, you happened across a small package on the ground. Seeing nobody around who could have dropped it, you decide to take it with you back to your room to see if you can identify its owner by the contents.
Once in your room, you open up the package at your desk to see what's inside. Luckily your roommate, Wii Fit Trainer, wasn't here to question what it was you were doing. Inside the package was a strange looking remote that didn't look like it for any sort of TV, and a manual explaining what the remote was. This remote was unlike any other technology you'd ever encountered before. Not only could it do seemingly impossible things like swapping people's heads, but it also had the capability to completely alter reality to make everyone except a few given people perceive the change as being normal, and believe nothing has happened. Even though you assumed this would work as the instructions told (whereas some other people would have to test it out themselves to believe it), you still wished to see it in action. Perhaps once you had gotten a feel for how it worked you could find out how it created such effects and perhaps weaponise it for your suit (and maybe find a few hidden features if there were any). Leaving your power suit in its charging station, you head out of your room looking for someone to swap with. Even though you wanted something interesting and different, you were pretty much willing to swap with anyone you came across.
