You smile and dive your head in for the kill.
Your jaws are about to surround the mouse, all the micen but Gertrude look away; she's used to this kind of stuff. However you didn't clamp down. You held your position hovering over the micen before retracting your head. The other micen turn back, a bit surprised at the turn of events. "Go away. Go back and tell your masters if you want an alliance come to me themselves. That goes for all of you." You say in a stern voice and retrieve your faithful friend Gertrude. You turn towards the kitchen to oversee your own colony.
"You're going to let her go?" Gertrude asked as she climbed on your shoulder.
"Of course. She hasn't wronged me, and I'm not some executioner. They can deal with their own problems." You set Gertrude down on the counter near Desio. "Get the colony together for a meeting." She did as you asked around five minutes later the residents gathered in front of you. "You all might be wondering why I called you here. There is going to be some changes. If you break the rules, the punishment will vary depending on the severity; death is no longer the only consequence." Some of the micen looked relieved. "Next, no one is going to be jobless. You can either be a teacher, daycare, guard, explorer, ambassador. The list goes on." The door bell rang, and you dispersed the meeting. When you went to go answer the door, there was no one there. Before you assume someone ditched it you looked down and saw a box.
You reached down and picked it up, reading the letter on top of it. "Dear Solace, a Little birdie told me that you were starting your own colony, so I decided to send you a gift. Love Geeaness." Geeaness was a lovely orange leona that also lived in your appartment complex a few doors down. You open the box and see a small figure that is a deep orange. She look up at you and saluted. "Hello there miss Solace." Her accent had a hint of french in it. "How may I be of service?"
"Hold still" You ask as you dangle the mousy over your mouth.
"W-what are you doing, miss Solace?" She struggled and held onto your fingers.
"I'm eating you. Isn't that what Geeaness wanted?" you ask.
"No miss. That would be a sere waste of my talents. He offered me as a gift; a chef, to be more specific." She tilted her head as if she was wearing a cap. "I learned to cook from the best and he would like you to have me."
"If you learnt from the best why would he give you to me if you're so valuable?"
"That is the only gift worth giving." She said confidently. She sounded just like Geeaness for a moment. Your stomach growled and the mouse smiled. "Your stomach is making it's music. Perchance I could prove myself? Let me make you some breakfast."
You agreed and went to the kitchen. you requested an omelet and gave the mouse everything she needed, even your precious eggs.
