"Shit" Beast gasped out. "That one was intense"
It was official. He needed to take a break. Go back to nature and let the animal loose for a while or else he was probably going to end up hurting someone. But where to go? And where could he go without arousing suspicion?
GRRRBLLBBRRR
A thought that could be mulled over during breakfast if you asked his stomach.
So Beast Boy threw on a T-shirt and some pajama pants and tucked his semi into his boxers and headed for the kitchen.
As be walked down the hallway he heard the faint sound of a woman crying
Well it wasn't actually very faint, in fact it was more of a wail than anything. Like a banshee.
Crap. It wasn't Rae or Star but... He took off towards the sound.
...
He arrived in the common room to see the rest of the Titans gathered around a figure on the couch. One with pink hair and was clearly the source of the noise.
"Kole?"
The entire room turned to look at him just staring for a moment finally Robin spoke up.
"We've lost a Titan Beast Boy. Gnaark has passed on."
"What happened?"
Aaaaand Kole is sobbing hard again. Which sets Robin glaring at him.
"As far as we can tell natural causes." Raven interjects "Kole went to wake him up one day and he was just dead, with no visible marks."
Another chorus of racked sobs form Kole.
"We'll prepare a memorial service for the Titans. And then one of us will stay with Kole for a while to help her through the transition"
Well, Beast Boy thought, there is that saying about gifthorses and looking them in the mouth.
"I'll do it." Alright reasons I need reasons why am I the best guy to go?
"Why?" Asked Robin while Raven eyed him suspiciously.
"Uhh duh dude. Animal powers ring a bell? Who's better to deal with a jungle on the team?"
Robin nodded, "Fair point. Alright Beast Boy will return with Kole to the north pole. We'll pull Wally to pick up the slack Beast Boy leaving would cause."
It was settled. Raven looked miffed and Cyborg looked a little down but it seemed like smooth sailing from this point on.
