This choice: Ray finds an abnormality...though not one that will cause Mike ill health! • Go Back... "Alright Mike, stop fooling around, I need to get a swab" Ray turned to the energetic boy who was currently spinning playfully in the swivel chair behind him.
Mike giggled as he came to a sudden stop.
"I just can't help it! I can't believe how much I grew overnight! I guess that puberty thing finally started!!" The boy was beaming, unaware of the potential dangers he might be facing.
"No... that isn't why this is happening...." Ray sighed heavily as he remembered the terrible sight of the freshly showered boy just after having guzzled down his serum.
"Ooh yeah, you said you had something to do with this right??"
"Well.. sort of, do you remember that 'drink' that you took from the freezer last night?"
Mike seemed to look confused for a moment before remembering the refreshing green beverage from the night before.
"OH YEAH!! That stuff was soooo tasty!" The ten year old involuntarily licked his lips as he remembered it's odd yet sweet taste.
Ray clenched his fist as the boy practically rubbed salt in the wound.
"Do you have any more of that stuff? I could go for another~" Mike grinned innocently
Ray was trying his best to stay calm, but it seemed like every word that came from the boy's mouth was purposely meant to mock him.
"No....." Ray stated with an aggravated tone.
"That 'tasty' drink took me a very VERY long time to produce. I probably won't be able to make another one for an entire year, maybe even longer..
Mike's eyes went wide with surprise.
"Oh wooow..... darn.... I guess I should have just taken a cola instead huh?~" The ten year old giggled as he rubbed his belly.
"....J-just open your mouth okay?...." Ray was clearly seething as he approached the boy with the cotton swab.
"AAAAAAA~" Mike exclaimed unnecessarily as he opened his mouth widely.
As he rubbed the inside of the boy's cheek, Ray couldn't help but wish that it were somehow possible to just reach down the boy's throat and get his serum back.
"Alright... now I just got to test this..." The teen grumbled as he walked over to his microscope.
"Soooo, what was so special about that drink anyways?" Mike muttered as he began to spin in his chair again.
Ray placed the sample between two petri dishes and turned on the microscope.
"That 'drink' was filled with a collection of VERY powerful, custom made enzymes whose purpose was to stimulate secondary pubetorial growth..."
"Ummmmmm..... so I guess that means it helps you grow more??” It was pretty clear that the teen's explanation went straight over the boy's head, aside from the word 'growth' of course.
“So THAT'S why I grew so much? Awesome!! Now I'll probably be bigger than you before I even turn eleven!" Mike giggled playfully.
Ray beginning to feel his inner rage surface again before taking a deep breath.
"I didn't make it for you...." Ray bit his lip as he continued to scan his brother's cells through the microscope's lens.
Mike didn't seem to notice the soft-spoken comment as he continued to spin around excitedly.
"Oh god......" Ray's heart began to race as he stared down at the cells, all of which were duplicating at a rate he never knew was possible.
"Damn damn damn..!, that serum was never supposed to be absorbed that early, it was way too powerful, especially for a kid that hadn't even hit puberty yet..." Ray began to subconsciously speak out loud as he scrambled over to a notepad and began crunching the numbers.
Mike suddenly stopped spinning as he heard the distress in his brother's voice.
Standing up from the seat, the ten year old began to walk over to see what the teen was writing when he realized something...
"Woaaaaah!!!" Ray felt a shiver run down his spine as he heard Mike's voice immediately behind him.
Turning his head, the sixteen year old's heart nearly stopped.
It was very slight, but noticeable; Mike was now about an inch taller than the teen...
“Th-there's no way...there's no way it could be happening this fast!....” Ray's voice trembled as he quickly looked down at the floor. Both brothers were wearing socks, there was no way that this was some sort of trick.
A huge grin began to spread across the boy's face. He had been waiting for this for so long.
"Hehe, I guess the little bro thing isn't a joke anymore.." Mike laughed as he pulled the paralyzed teen into a headlock.
"no....no....nonono..." Ray quietly muttered with mortification as tears began to well in his eyes. The whole reason he made that serum was to avoid this moment. The only thing it did was just accelerate the inevitable.
Mike then noticed that the teen's eyes were getting watery.
“Aww, don't cry little guy. If it makes you feel any better, It always kind of felt like I was meant to be the bigger bro, ya know?.” The boy was totally oblivious that every word was just making teen more upset.
It was then that Ray just reminded himself of the results he had just discovered.
"M-mike, let me go! This is important, you need to know something!"
"Sure thing LIL bro~" Mike was clearly adding more emphasis now that he could literally lord himself over the teen.
Upon being released, Ray began to recount the results over and over again.
"So what are you getting so upset about lil guy?" Mike muttered as he walked over and placed his hand on the teen's head, ruffling it bit.
Though the condescending gesture was very upsetting, Ray knew there were MUCH bigger issues at hand.
"It's the serum.... like I was saying, not only did you drink it before it was ready, but your body type and age will only magnify the effects.”
"Wait, so this growth splurt thing isn't even over yet? COOOOL!! Can you tell how much bigger I'm gonna get?" Mike's eyes grew wide with anticipation as he looked down at the indecipherable notes.
“There's no way....” Ray kept calculating the numbers, but they were simply too big ….WAY too big.
“Aw, just tell me!!!! I hope I grow taller than a skyscraper!!” the boy laughed to himself jokingly as he raised his arms out and stomped his feet in a godzilla like fashion.
Ray made a nervous gulp as he heard the boy's comment. Mike's innocent boasting wouldn't have bothered him had the results not seemed to project a similar result....
“L-look.. I need to monitor you to make sure this-”
“I'm staaaarving....can you make me something to eat?” The Mike's toned belly gurgled from behind ray's shirt.
Ray took a deep calming breath.
“Alright, sure. Just promise me that you'll cooperate for the next few days.”
“Of course lil bro! Whatever you say!” Ray couldn't help but notice that the tone of the boy's voice seemed a bit more condescending now that he was technically looking down on him.
-In the kitchen-
“I could really go or some lasagna!” Mike shouted loudly as his stomach growled.
“Alright, fine...” Ray rolled his eyes as he opened the freezer.
“I can't wait to go back to school and show my friends! I bet I'm as tall as the twelfth graders by then!” Mike giggled as he imagined how it would all play out.
If ray's calculations were correct, it was very unlikely that Mike would even be able to FIT in school after break was over.
Keeping his thoughts to himself, Ray attempted to pull down a plate from the top shelf, a task he often struggled with.
“Oh, let me help you out there little guy~” Mike suddenly appeared behind him, reaching his arm up and grabbing the plate with no effort.
“If you ever need any help reaching anything, just let me know~” Mike was clearly loving every moment he was able to show off his new height.
“W-what the...” Ray suddenly noticed that Mike had grown a good two inches taller since they had been in the basement.
“This is crazy... you're growing faster as time goes on..” Ray backed away and noticed that all his clothes had become too small for Mike's growing body.
“Cooool! You're right! I didn't even notice until now...” Mike didn't seem to be concerned. If anything the boy just wanted to see just how tall he could really get.
“M-mike, I don't think we should be joking about this anymore...” Ray couldn't help but notice that the clothes seemed to be getting visibly tighter as they talked.
“Wooooow~ If I stand really still it almost feels like the room is getting smaller!!!” Mike fidgeted excitedly as he began to add on centimeters with each second.
