Younger brothers are back and bigger than ever!
This choice: The twins call Patrick to their room that evening and want to show him something  •  Go Back...
Chapter #4

Gifted Brothers

The rest of the evening passed normally after that little bout of strangeness. Patrick had tried to get them to talk about what they had meant but the twins were frustratingly coy about it. When he asked them when they were together they just grinned at each other before looking at him and saying, "You'll see!" and when he cornered them when they were apart (Nick while he was on the way to the bathroom and Nate while he was getting more soda out of the big fridge in the garage) they both responded in different, yet similar ways.

Nick had pushed his glasses up, the frames making a slight clicking sound that tended to get on Patrick's nerves (considering that Nick usually never adjusted them pointedly before saying something unless he was planning on being vague or smart alecky about it), and said, "Well, what do you think happens to boys our age?"

Patrick had thought for a moment before responding, "You...get older?"

Nick had chuckled and shook his head slightly, "Well duh, but what else?"

Patrick didn't appreciate the condescension and barked, "Well how should I know?"

Nick pointed up at him, poking his nose playfully, "See, you wouldn't be so upset if you were smarter. Just wait! Like we said, you'll see!"

He had run off with a giggle after that, locking the bathroom door behind him so Patrick didn't get any ideas about pranking him while he was on the toilet. As for Nate, when Patrick had closed the door leading into the house behind him, blocking it, the little red head had sighed and merely said, "Wait, okay? Don't be so impatient!"

"Why? What's the big deal? Can't you just tell me?" Patrick had asked.

"Well duh, of course I could! But that's no fun." He grinned as he said this, winking at Patrick. "I'll give you a hint though: What do you think happens to boys our age?"

"Not this again..." Patrick had thought, keeping his annoyance down and actually thinking this time. "Let's see...I guess...maybe puberty?"

Nate chuckled and said, "Think about that for a bit."

He had then grabbed a bottle of Pepsi and darted around Patrick, getting back inside the house. Patrick sighed and rubbed his forehead. Sometimes, those two were more trouble than they were worth. "It IS their birthday though, I guess they can have their fun." Patrick murmured to himself, heading back into the house.

Patrick wasn't about to be satisfied until around nine o clock, when their mother had clapped her hands and said, "Alright you two, bed time! Upstairs and brush your teeth, now please, and no complaining!"

The twins sighed in unison and jumped up, running upstairs to the bathroom. Their parents' bedroom was on the first floor, along with the kitchen, dining room, living room, and another bathroom. The second floor was officially the domain of the kids, the only rooms up there being Patrick's room, the twin's room, and the bathroom. Patrick helped his mother clear the dishes and put them in the dishwasher, the sounds of laughter and running water coming from upstairs. "Make sure those two actually go to bed, alright?" Their mother said, sighing slightly. "Those two can be such a handful sometimes I swear! Are you sure you're going to be able to handle them while your dad and I are gone?"

"Mom, please. They're just two little kids. What could possibly go wrong?"

Their parents had been planning on going on a trip for awhile now, though they were being cagey about the reason. It wasn't strictly business and it wasn't pleasure either but they didn't get any clearer than that. Patrick assumed it had something to do with the twins, the trip being planned so close to their birthday and all. She sighed and kissed Patrick on the forehead. "Oh, I know sweetie but I'm a mother. We worry. It's part of the job description."

With the dishes packed away Patrick bade his mother good night and headed upstairs, the lights in the house going off one by one as everyone made their way to their rooms. Patrick planned to stay up for a few more hours yet, surfing the net on his laptop for awhile, when his name was called out in unison by his brother's. It was something Patrick got used to hearing, considering the twins often spoke together and finished each others sentences in a stereotypical twin fashion. "Patrick!"

He stopped and looked into his brother's bedroom. "What's up you guys? Mom said to go to bed, remember?"

Nate chuckled, laying out on his bed, arms behind his head, looking a bit smug. "Yeah, we know. Guess you don't want to know what were talking about earlier then."

Patrick's interest was immediately piqued. He felt like he was walking into a trap but his curiosity was getting the better of him. He stepped into the room and closed the door, locking it. "Okay you two. No getting out of it this time! What's going on?"

Nate glanced casually over at Nick and said, "I dunno, you think we should tell him?"

Nick, who was hugging his knees slightly as he sat on top of his covers, sighed theatrically and shook his head. "Nuh uh. No way. Not in a million years."

Patrick rolled his eyes and said, "Come on you guys! No escape this time. Talk." His tone made it clear the time for games was over.

"Sorry Patty boy but Nick said no way." Nate said, holding his hands up, like there was nothing he could do about it. "Guess you're just gonna have to go back to bed and...wait!"

He suddenly leaped to his feet, holding his hand up, finger extended like he was pointing at the moon. "I've got a great idea! I can't tell you...so how about I show you?"

Nick clapped his hands to his cheeks and said, "Aw man! You found a way around it! Guess I've got no choice now!"

Both boys moved to the center of the room, holding hands. "Ready?" They said in unison, nodding once at each other.

Patrick, starting to lose his temper at all these games, said, "Look you guys, this is getting annoying how about you just....tell me...what's going...on?"

His voice trailed off slightly as he watched his twin brother's bodies suddenly glow with an internal silvery light, their hair rising slightly like they were caught up in a light wind, their eyes closed. The effect only lasted for a second, the twin's eyes opening as the light disappeared. "What...the heck was that?" Patrick asked, unsure of what he had just seen.

"Hold on..just wait...the best part is coming." Nate said, holding up a hand, sounding slightly out of breath.

Patrick watched curiously as his brother's both seemed to pant, their pajama shirts riding up slightly with every deep gulp of hair, their hands still clasped tightly together. After a few minutes, Patrick started to notice something strange...their shirts seemed to be riding up higher as they breathed, slowly showing off more and more of their pale skin, the buttons on their shirts stretching slightly, showing off little ovals of flesh between each button. Patrick's eyes widened as he looked down, seeing the waistband digging in slightly to their bodies, the legs of their pajama bottoms rising up past their ankles, making a slow, smooth trek up their hairless legs. Their feet kept pace, slowly stretching along the carpet, their toes digging in, the feeling from this strange growth obviously pleasing them.

"W-Wow...this feels even better than I thought it would..." Nick murmured, licking his lips a little, the creaking sound of cloth filling the air. Both boys had started out at a rather runty four and a half feet tall but they were both easily cresting five foot even and still growing.

"Mmmmmm yeaaaaah! I don't want this feeling to EVER stop!" Nate said with a grin, taking a particularly deep breath, the ping of a button audible as it popped clear of Nate's top, revealing more of his chest. Nate chuckled appreciatively, his body still steadily expanding. The hems of their tops were now clearing their belly buttons, the sleeves growing ever tighter around their pale arms, seams popping as their thighs grew to be too much for their pant legs.

Patrick could feel his heart racing as the twins swiftly approached his height of six feet, the sound of ripping cloth and lost buttons rising into a cacophony around him. He took a step back, Nate's hand quickly grabbing his and holding tight, yanking him closer. "No, no, you wanted to know what we were talking about, now stick around until it's over!"

Patrick was shocked by the force in Nate's grip, holding him still, inches away from the young growing bodies. The twin's eye line were now equal with his...and then above it! And the growth didn't appear to be stopping!
