Chapter #6Into the Grass Forest by: Haro-Haze ![Author Icon](https://images.Writing.Com/imgs/writing.com/writers/costumicons/ps-icon-regular-10.gif) Joey's heartbeat quickly accelerated as Maddie's spiked sneakers were felt pounding the ground from a distance, the shrunken boy mustering all his strength in an attempt to remove the large orange sports ball from his path before she reached him.
"Oh crap!" Joey yelled, the large sphere before him refusing to move even one inch as Maddie's footsteps became predominantly noticeable behind him. Looking back Joey spotted his sister's silver footwear as each massive sneaker landed on either side of him, blocking off any potential escape route he might have if Maddie spotted him.
Completely oblivious to Joey's predicament and struggles he had endured thus far to avoid being crushed like a bug under her feet Maddie bent down to recover her basketball. Preferring to remain unseen by his gargantuan sister, Joey stood completely still as her hands reached down towards him. Her immeasurable size making Maddie more than a little intimidating at such a close distance, her goddess sized fingers wrapping themselves around the obstacle blocking Joey's path with ease.
Maddie then easily lifted the house sized orb off the ground, making the task look so simple that it might as well weigh nothing to the blonde giantess. For Joey this was a devastating blow to his already low amount of self esteem, forcing him to come to grips with the reality of how small he'd become. If he couldn't move something that Maddie could easily lift with only a fraction of her strength, then what was he compared to her. The only answer that came to his mind being a bug.
Much like a bug Joey quickly retreated into the grass as Maddie walked away from him, dribbling the large orange ball as she prepared to continue her practice session. Joey left alone in the grass, attempted to make his way out far enough that Maddie would not be able to reach him, even if her ball managed to bounce of the rim again and roll into the grass.
The weather outside was abnormally hot, even for Steven Point in the middle of the summer. Though it did make perfect sense since all of Wisconsin was currently experiencing a state wide heat wave, making Johnny Nimbus's news show just a bit more boring where weather was concerned. Everyday he'd predict the same thing with one hundred percent accuracy. Temperatures exceeding ninety degrees fahrenheit, sunny days best spent at the beach, and worst of all high levels of humidity statewide.
These three factors are what caused Joey to quickly begin sweating as he pushed away tens of the thousands of blades of grass that covered his families backyards, each blade standing slightly taller than him. After some time he began to wonder when the yard was last mowed, realising in the end that it was his own chore to do so.
"This is crazy, the whole backyard is like it's own forest." Joey pointed out, barely able to see the roof of his own home from the backyard. Though it hardly made any difference, even if Joey could somehow make it inside his family's house at this size he still had no idea's for how he should go about getting their attention.
Just then a shadow appeared over Joey, who was it.
1. Liv, she's wearing a bikini and holding a towel. Preparing to lay down in the backyard to tan.
2. His mother Karen. Joey realizes her foot is coming straight towards him, accidentally forcing him to flee in the direction of her garden. Where she collects Strawberries and other fruits/vegetables, along with Joey. ![](https://images.Writing.Com/imgs/writing.com/writers/info/interactive-3.png) indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
