Beck, Andre, Robbie, and Sinjin had been selected as a group by Sikowitz to enter a contest where student at Hollywood arts created technology that would revolutionize the way movies and television shows were shot on camera.
The main focus of this competition was to eliminate the use of green screens and make movies as realistic as possible, Sinin and Robbie being the more scientifically gifted of the four choose to work alone.
"What are we even doing here?" Beck and Andre asked wondered why Sinjin and Robbie even needed them around for the project, clearly they were capable of doing it themselves so why have two spear sets of hands they weren't gonna use.
"We're not exactly popular, we're worried no one will pay attention to our protect unless we have you you two draw in a crowd." Sinjin said as Robbie nodded behind him tinkering with the wiring on their tripod lifted invention.
"What can I say, the ladies don't like Robbie. But I still could have brought my Northridge girls in to get everyone interested haha." Rex laughed never missing the opportunity to insult his puppeteer Robbie.
Robbie not saying a word against Rex as Andre smiled "So you needed my good lucks to get people interested." Andre said proudly, obvious to everyone else in the room that Sinjin was speaking of Beck whom every other girl at Hollywood Arts had a crush on.
"So whats this thing do?" Beck asked causally walking around the device just as Robbie had finish tinkering around with it's inner workings, it looked like some kind of weird looking turret.
"This is a matter reducer, it combines atoms while also making the object or person it's used on smaller in the process." Sinjin explained answering Beck's question.
"So why don't you just call it a shrink ray?" Andre was quick to ask the more difficult name bothering the boy who preferred that most things remained easily, much like his natural ability to write songs.
"Because if you were listening it doesn't only shrink things and people, it makes them harder to crush for safety reasons." Robbie said placing Rex atop the device and walking towards the group standing in front of the device's path.
While all four boys attention was grasped in the conversation, Rex slowly and without a sound rolled off the matter reducer hitting several switches before the puppet hit the group.
The sudden *clacking* noise grasping the boys attention just at the point where it was too late to do anytime "It's been activated." Sinjin said causing the other boys to panic.
They all tried running towards the device but were suddenly stunned by a bright light shinning from the device, the light was so intense the boys all had to close their eyes just to avoid going blind.
However when they opened their eyes the 4 boys found themselves looking at the world from a new perspective, in fact they were looking at the entire world from a much smaller perspective now that each of them stood at an inch tall in height.
"We've been shrunk!" Andre yelled out to Beck who somehow even in this situation managed to remain calm "... I wasn't meant to be so puny." he continued before the boys attention was grasped by the sound of someone opening the door.
