They raced to the palace, telling the guards that Twilight had something she needed to tell Princess Celestia. Recognising the 6 they let them through, while Trixie waited outside.
Twilight froze, her cheeks a bright red.
"I-I'm really not sure I'm ready for this..."
SHe tried to turn around to leave, but her her friends were right behind her.
Pinkie Pie pushed Twilight forward with her head.
"You can't back out now! You've been pushing it down for years, but it hasn't made it go away!"
Twilight's ears flicked nervously and she looked away from the others.
"But what if the Princess turns me down? What if she thinks I'm weird or that this is wildly inappropriate?"
Pinkie Pie laughed, offending and puzzling Twilight, but the pink pony still smiled.
"Come on Twilight, how often does the bad stuff you fear from the Princess ever happen? She's a pretty cool lady, and accepts everyponie's differences. If she doesn't like you, she'll probably just tell you politely, and then you won't have to keep those feelings so deeply buried."
Her friends smiled and nodded in agreement. Twilight smiled to, spurned on by their confidence.
"You're right! I can do this! I'm sure it will be ok!"
Twilight stook a step forward.
"On the other hand...." Twilight turned away again but Pinkie Pie pushed her forward.
"We've come too far to back out now, its time to mare up and do this!"
"Right!... I guess."
They eventually reached the throne room, Twilight still wrestling with her doubts.
With some urging, Twilight and the others entered the throne room, Twilight still twitching and looking back and fourth. Celestia does look good today Twilight thought, though that thought compelled her to look further away.
Celestia watched them enter, wondering why Twilight was acting so strangely.
"Hello everypony, how are you today?" She said warmly.
"Celestia, could you send the guard's away?" Pinkie Pie spoke up, as Twilight was too tongue tied to say anything herself.
"Very well. Guards? Could you leave us?" Celestia gestured, and they cleared out. "What is the matter?"
"Twilight has something to say!" Pinkie Pie said,pushing Twilight forward.
Twilight looked back to her friends nervously, though they tried to give her encouraging smiles. It took a few seconds for Twilight to find her voice. Celestia looked on patiently.
"C-Celestia, t-this isn't easy for me to say-" We've thought monsters, risked our lives countless times, faced the embodiment of chaos and THIS is what scares me the most?! "B-but I've always looked up to you-" In more than one sense.... "I've always thought you were special, like no other pony. You've always been there for me and you've helped me become the pony I am today. Princess Celestia, their's no easy way of saying this. I love you!"
As soon as the words left her mouth, everypony looked to Celestia wondering how she would take it
