It was a party of the year hosted by an upcoming film producer, Albert Jackson. He was a large, single man talking to a group.
"A lot of people have come to this town and changed, But not me. Now excuse me, I have to read a story To my adopted Canadian orphan." He clapped his hands as he left the group.
"Nannies! produce the child and the story." Before he could even clap again, a pale boy was before him in a blue sweatshirt and jeans. Tall for ten with bitty eyes and fragile bones.
"Hello, Harbor," Albert cooed as he looked down at the boy, "give Daddy a kiss."
Getting no answer aside for a confused blink, Albert bent down and gave him a kiss on the cheek instead. Canadians, as you know, aren't used to social interactions or warm weather.
Harbor just wiped the kiss away in disgust.
"Can I go now?" He asked as one of the nannies handed Albert a copy of 'Go Dog Go' and a warm bottle of milk.
