As Cody finally reached the far end of the field, he turned himself around, still fuming over Ryan's remarks.
The boy's eyes widened in confusion. His friends were gone. ........
"T....they ditched me......" For a moment, the boy's eyes began to water, but he roughly rubbed the moisture away with his sleeve in anger.
"J- JEEEEERKS!!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.
For a moment he thought about chasing them, but he instead decided that he'd rather be alone then spend another moment around Ryan.
Neither you or Brandon ever spoke up when Ryan was making fun of him. Probably because you two thought it was funny. The 10 year old bit his bottom lip in frustration as all these thoughts circulated around his mind. He began to tread across the vast lonely lot, alone.
That was then that he noticed a nearby anthill. A grin formed across his boyish face.
------------
As the brightness faded, the three of you stood there stunned.
"W-..what was..."
You looked down at your palm to find that the small meteorite had been turned to dust.
"W-where....."
The three of you turned around, standing back-to-back.
All around you was a vast Savannah-type jungle.
"WHAT THE HELL" Ryan yelled.
"A-Adam...what's going on!?" Brandon shouted nervously.
"I..I don't know!! That wasn't supposed to happen!!!"
"What exactly DID happen? Where are we??!" Ryan's eyes darted around the new unknown world.
"Did that thing teleport us or something?" Brandon asked.
"LOOK, I don't know! I just found that rock in my back yard last night dude!"
"Well, we need to get BACK, other wi-....WHAT IS THAT?!?!" Brandon pointed forward.
"What's... what?..........!!." nearly three yards away was a massive black creature that looked to be the size of a small car.
"I...IS that... A GIANT ANT?!?!" Ryan was clearly freaking out at this point.
"No... It's.. it's gotta be... a.. a bear or ..something" You tired to hide the fact that it truly did look like a car-sized ant.
Suddenly, three of you felt a rush of air behind you. You turned to see another ant had just raced by a few feet away.
"THEY ARE ANTS. WHY...Wait....these aren't trees...are they..." Brandon's voice started to get eerily quite.
"No.. no way.." Ryan must have realized it too. The foliage that towered over us looked like giant blades of grass.
"D-did we shrink?" You spoke as your heart beat frantically in your chest.
"L-look.. we ...we just need to stick together alright?" Brandon tried to reassure you.
"If we just wait it out, maybe we......" His miniature speech is suddenly interrupted by a rhythmic vibration.
"D..do you feel that?" The vibration begins getting more intense; In the distance you could hear a loud crunching noise that accompanied it.
-----
Cody stopped in front of the ant hill. He started down on it for a few moments watching the ants mindlessly enter and exit their hole. All he could think about was they way Ryan ruffled his hair and called him small. Fueled by anger and amusement, he brought his foot back and quickly swung it towards the small hill of dirt, causing it to explode. He watched as all the tiny ants began to scatter away in all directions. They knew that they were in danger, and Cody liked that. He was always too small to hold any kind of power over other humans, but with ants he was like a god. He slowly raised his foot over a party of ants trying to escape and brought it down with a quick crunch. He loved that feeling, that feeling of complete dominance and control.
-------
In the distance, the three friends heard a massive explosion, causing them to cover their ears.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Ryan asked spontaneously.
"HOW SHOULD WE KNOW?!" Brandon scoffed.
"G-guys... .. I think... we should run.." You spoke fearfully
"What?....!!!" Ryan and Brandon's eyes went wide when they saw an army of ants running towards them.
RUUUUNN!!!
The three friends ran across the dirt covered terrain as if their lives depended on it. You would occasionally turn around, only to find that the ants were getting closer and closer. At this size, they were easily three times faster than you. Knowing that they were moments away from catching up the three of you screamed and covering your heads.
....
Opening your eyes nervously, you found that the ants were completely ignoring you. The just kept running right on past you.
"W-what? Why are they not eating us?" Ryan spoke
"Uh... I don't think I want to question it.." Brandon sighed.
The three of you went silent as the vibrations started again. The grass above them quivered as the shaking only grew more and more violent.
"Grab on to each other" Brandon yelled.
The two of you followed orders and linked each other's arms, getting as low to the ground as possible.
Whatever it was had to have only been three or four yards away.
The moment the vibrations stopped, the sun suddenly disappeared......
Slowly opening your eyes, you and your friends looked up nervously.
Each of your jaws dropped. Towering high above the grass were two impossibly massive legs attached to a familiar pair of white shorts.
"C-.....c.."
High above the shorts was a blue tee-shirt, followed by a god-like grinning face; but not just any face. It was Cody....
