Dad knew you were just as stubborn as your late mother. He needed someone to help him talk to you about the power you possessed. He teleported away from the sitting room, materializing inside James' room who frowned upon seeing him. "Your heart rate and blood pressure are abnormally high, father." Concerned, he said. "What's wrong?"
"Jessica has discovered her power." Flatly, dad said. "I need your help to talk to her."
"Neither you or I possess the knowledge or skill to teach her witchcraft, father." Standing up, James stated. "It will be necessary to ship her off to a school that specializes in that form of education."
"I'm not ready to..." Sighing, dad began.
James folded his arms. "It is inevitable that she learns magic, father. You can not deny her." Firmly but respectfully, he said. "Witchcraft is a part of who she is, just as mad science is a part of who we are."
"She is not ready." Sternly, dad countered. "She needs a strong foundation to start from and I need you to help me think of how to make her one."
James was thoughtful for a moment. "Why not teach her some mad science?" Finally, he suggested. "It would not harm her to be male for a few weeks to build some resistance to chaotic energy."
"It would also give her a foundation to start from as I heard all witches become males sometime during their training to understand the principals behind transformation spells." Smiling slightly, dad said. His smile faltered. "However, I will still require your support; Jessica is as stubborn as your late mother."
James nodded. "I will assist you, father." Sighing, he said. "Perhaps Jessica will like the idea of being 'one of the boys' for a while."
Dad and James vanished from the bed room and materialized in the sitting room. You screamed, nearly dropping both books. "Dad! James! You scared me half to death!"
"I'm afraid that this is just the beginning, my dear daughter." In a serious tone, dad said. "I was hoping that you would not discover this for some time but we can adapt."
He rose his hand which began to spark with electricity. There was a dull flash and a spinning globe of crackling energy hovered over his hand. Your eyes widened like saucers as James did the same before speaking. "The big question is, can you adapt with us?"
"You two are mad scientists!?" Stunned, you asked.
Dad nodded. "That is correct, young lady." Firmly but kindly, dad said. "Now that you have discovered this and your own magical power, we need to have a serious discussion about your future."
