Chapter #7

Species Shift

    by: Unknown
You give a smirk. "You know," you say. "What makes Destiny so intimidating is the fact that she's a gargoyle. What if she wasn't a gargoyle?" Lockette gives a blink. "So you're going with Curse #34? Species Shift. I don't know. What if it turns Destiny into something more dangerous than a gargoyle?" You let out a scoff. "Oh please," you say. "This is revenge. Dial the number, Lockette." Lockette rolled her eyes as she dialed on the phone."

At that time, Destiny was in her office trying to open a jar of jalapeños. "Damn these stupid jars," she says. "Why do they have to make them so tight." Aria flies by the office and looks in surprise. "I thought gargoyles hated jalapeños." Belladonna gave a scoff. "Destiny and Fate love jalapeños. I'm pretty sure Fortuna does to." Destiny finally manages to tear the lid of the jar before she started to eat the jalapeños. "Hey, Belladonna. Aria. Want one of these jalapeños?" Belladonna shakes her hands. "You couldn't pay me to eat one of those things. Why do you torture your tastebuds like that." Destiny gives a scoff and bites into the pepper before grunting as the spell is cast. Destiny feels her head just as the curse strikes her.

"You alright, Warden?" asks Aria. Destiny gives a scoff. "It was probably just a bad pepper." Destiny continues to eat the peppers right before she finishes and begins to drink the brine as Belladonna and Aria look in disgust and walk away. "No wonder she's got a hot temper," says Aria. "Drinking that pepper juice can't be good for her."

Several hours later, Destiny is just about to leave when she realizes you're smiling at her rather smugly. Destiny glares at you and then she gestures that she's watching you right before she opens her wings in order to fly home. As she does this, she feels somewhat light-headed and gives a slight belch. "Ugh," she says. "I think I ate too many peppers. Well, that's what I get for being one of only three gargoyles in the world to like them. Other gargoyles just don't appreciate a good pepper." Destiny then gives a hiccup. "But perhaps I shouldn't have pickled them first."

Destiny arrives home right before she unlocks the door and then cooks several gyros in the microwave for dinner. For some reason she's extra ravenous. It must've been a side effect of the curse. As she was eating, she was speaking on the phone with Fate. "So they finally hired another night guard." "That's right, Mom. They're going to break her in tomorrow." Destiny gives a scoff. "I hope they hired another day guard. Sometimes I don't think Beth takes her job seriously. (Hic). Sorry about that Fate. For some reason, I've got quite an appetite." "I hope you're eating something that takes more than a minute to cook. Don't forget Aunt Fortuna and her family are coming to Fearfield." Destiny lets out a sigh. "What is that idiot sister of mine in town for this time?" "She said something about an art exhibition she wanted to see. And hey, she's nothing compared to Bona." Destiny grits her teeth. "Don't mention that bastard in my presence, Fate." "But aren't I..." "Poor choice of words! Ugh." "Are you alright Mom?" "I'm fine, Sweetie. Gyro just going down rough." "You're eating those microwave gyros again?! I'm surprised that you're not as fat as me." "Stay off my case, Fate. I feel really weird. Guess it's time to turn in."

Destiny went to bed not even knowing about the curse and as she sleeping, she underwent a strange transformation. The next morning, Destiny's alarm clock was ringing loudly right before Destiny smashed it. "I hate mornings. This is why gargoyles are normally nocturnal." Destiny lets out a yawn and gets out of bed before she steps into the bathroom and starts brushing her teeth. However, Destiny then looks into the mirror in horror because she has transformed into a...
