It's the day she is to hunt the Great Mammo...

She had slain plenty of direwolves, sent bandit parties to their graves, and even tore off a chunk of a sabretooth tiger's fur, but today would mark her final test before reaching full stature as a warrior in front of her tribe.

And all it would take is the slaying of the Great Mammoth.

Luckily for her, Great Mammoth's weren't exactly uncommon but it wasn't like they advertised their location. They were crafty, incredibly strong, and had some magical abilities, as evidenced by Aurora's own mother, the former warmaiden now at pixie-height and often used to deliver messages to their allies.

Her mother had often warned her about this day, not to be too arrogant, as she had been, not to rush onwards for glory's sake.

"Take your time, my Aurora, and you shall pass your test."

Now, after giving her mother the very lightest of kisses on her tiny cheek, Auroura made her way out of the village, the gates closing behind her and leaving her alone with the frost and the cold.

Setting out, she traveled until nightfall, setting up a fire and eating some snow rabbits that were unfortunate enough to cross her mace's path.

As she cooked some more rabbit flesh, she heard footsteps.

Grabbing her mace, she was ready to strike when she saw the approaching figure.

It was a slim young woman, much shorter than Aurora's giant-like stature, clothed in little more than rags. Human by the looks of her.

"Help...me," the human murmured before collapsing to the ground.
