You can think of no reason why not to go ahead. Your parents are out for the day, your sister is at her friends' house, and your brother is engrossed in his video games next door - you won't be disturbed. Reclining in your seat, you put the helmet on. Custom fitted, the padded interior fits snugly against your head. With the press of a button, the visor slides down over your eyes and the headphones clamp down tightly around your ears, muffling all noise.

For half a minute, you just lay there in the silence and dark, as the thing boots. Finally the Realitek logo glows before your eyes. A soft, female voice speaks into your ears. "Thank you for choosing Realitek Sensory Immersion Headset. Establishing user avatar. Scanning... Please do not remove your headset..."

A wave of warmth ripples down your body. In front of your eyes, floating in the blackness, appears a figure. It's you! Even down to your faded jeans and t-shirt.

"Scanning complete. Do you want to accept this as your avatar?"

2. "Skip."

3. "Edit."
