Continue in the Third Person

Kiba was now acutely aware of his situation and he was also aware that it was likely that he was sitting in an interrogation room. The title being pretty self explanatory didn't really leave any room for speculation as to what they were going to do next. However, the question still loomed; what did they want to know?

Anyone who's ever been interrogated or knows anything about interrogation knows that there are several options for either side to use. There are also several different rules that all depend on who you're dealing with. If you're being interrogated by thugs or criminals, you're only useful as long as you know what they want to know. As long as your useful though, they can't really afford to do away with you, though that won't stop them from trying to beat the answers out of you. It's never any fun to be tortured but the longer you can endure it, the longer you live. If they find out that you don't know anything or that you've given all the information you have, you can expect to find yourself in a shallow grave. The rules are a similar with police, though the stakes aren't as high. Police have rules they have to follow. They can make you uncomfortable, they can threaten you, they can feed you false information to make you second guess yourself... but they can't kill you or beat you with a plank of wood until they break it. If you play you're cards right and feed them bits of useful information for deals or favors that benefit you, you can take a little information and go a long way. Of course if they find out you're lying or you don't have any information to give, you can expect to find yourself in a prison cell pretty quickly.

Kiba lurched upright in his chair as the door swung open and a bloodhound walked in along with a husky. Both were in police uniforms, the husky was female and the bloodhound was male. The bloodhound dropped a few files on the desk before dropping into his seat while the husky took her seat with much more poise and etiquette.

"I'll get right to the point," The bloodhound stated, "You are an unregistered human. You look like you're... what? nineteen? Twenty one? Twenty two maybe?" He shrugged. Kiba's expression shifted from neutral to annoyed as he realized that dealing with the bloodhound was going to be less than pleasant. "Honestly who cares? All we know is your older than a ten year old and there's no record of your existence and we want to know why?"

Kiba sat back in his chair and forced a calm and neutral expression onto his face, "And why should I tell you?"

"Because," The husky interjected, "Your answer and how cooperative you are will determine what we do with you in regards to your living arrangements."

"Or," The bloodhound barked, "It could determine how we punish you or execute you... pretty straight forward really."

Of course, dealing with a police force that has no problem executing you can be a bit of a problem. Especially when the only information you can give is a story that no one will believe. That's when the game changes, it becomes less about the actual interrogation and more about buying time to figure out how to escape.

"Alright," Kiba replied, "When I was a kid, we were poor. I grew up with my family in a refugee camp. One of your kind would stray in now and again just looking for a place to stay the night. We were fine with that, no harm no foul is what we believed. It wasn't an ideal living condition for anyone but we got by. But one night some thugs came and tore the camp apart and lit it on fire. Burned everything to the ground. I got separated from my family, they didn't make it out in time..." Kiba paused as he sighed. "I'd really rather not tell the rest of this..." The husky looked sympathetic toward you, while the bloodhound only scoffed at your story.

"Fine," The bloodhound muttered while waving his hands, "Skip ahead a bit."

Kiba nodded, "Thank you, anyway I basically lived as a thief roaming from small town to small town and stealing what I needed to survive, no more no less. I found a job in a human settlement a few miles from here and I worked there for a while. During one of my shifts working at the warehouse I felt ill and the next thing I knew I woke up in the street here where that wolf officer found me." When Kiba finished his story he knew the odds of them believing it was a longshot. Especially because of the fact that he'd told the wolf he knew nothing of the anthro's hatred toward humans, which was probably common knowledge everywhere in this world as was the reason behind it. Still, if nothing else he'd hoped that their checking into the story would buy him time.... if they bought it that is.

"That's an interesting story kid..." The bloodhound replied, "Plenty of holes and wiggle room here and there but for the most part that's pretty viable."

"We'll need a moment to go over what we've heard and check into your story," The husky stated, "We'll be back in a moment." With that the two canine's rose and left the room.
