Amy was lying in bed one day. She was thinking hard about where she was in life. Everyday she came closer and closer to Sonic, but now the empty space of her heart that once was filled by a need for Sonic was being filled by a new need.
She knew next to nothing about her actual family and despite her close friendship with Cream, she realized that there was something more she wanted: an actual sister. Not someone like Cream or Rouge who she could occasionally speak to, but someone closer, that she could trust and confide in.
"But how?" wondered the pink hedgehog. Deciding to sleep on it, Amy took one last look out her window and, lo and behold, a shooting star soared by. When she was younger, Amy never thought much of superstitions and beliefs like star wishes, with the lone exception of her tarot cards. But the need for sisterhood was growing, and fast.
"Star light, Star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight." chanted Amy.
"Please stars, grant me a wish. I wish not for my beloved Sonic as you may have thought I would, but I wish for something else. I wish for a sister. A kind sister who will always be there for me, always can help me when I'm sad. Someone I could confide in. Please. Just this one wish."
The pink hedgehog then went to her bed to sleep, off to dream of the sister she never had, but wanted.
Unknown to her, however, a bejeweled necklace, given to her on her birthday by Knuckles, began to shine in a strange way.
